C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Removal of the VORV
(1) Find the VORV (1) attached to the Oil Control Manifold (OCM) on the left of the engine at the nine o'clock position.
(2) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) connector (P54) from the VORV (1) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(3) Remove the VORV (1) from the OCM as follows:
(a) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) below the VORV (1) to absorb any remaining oil.
(b) Remove the five bolts (12) and washers (13).
(c) Remove the VORV (1) from the manifold.
(d) Remove the gasket (11) from the manifold.
(1) Find the VORV (1) attached to the Oil Control Manifold (OCM) on the left of the engine at the nine o'clock position.
(2) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) connector (P54) from the VORV (1) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(3) Remove the VORV (1) from the OCM as follows:
(a) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) below the VORV (1) to absorb any remaining oil.
(b) Remove the five bolts (12) and washers (13).
(c) Remove the VORV (1) from the manifold.
(d) Remove the gasket (11) from the manifold.
NOTE: The gasket (11) may be reused later (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-15-400-801).
(4) Installation of the protection covers CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
