Removal of the Active Oil Damper Valve (AODV)

CAUTION: YOU MUST NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT-FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Open the left thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 79-21-07-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Active Oil Damper Valve (AODV)
   (1) Find the AODV (1) attached to the Oil Control Module (OCM) at the 9 o'clock position.
   (2) Remove the AODV (1) from the OCM as follows:
     (a) Disconnection of the tubes.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
       1 Disconnect the tube (LP33) and (LB35).
       2 Disconnect the (WC10) wiring harness (4011KS) connector (P40) from the AODV receptacle (J40) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
     (b) Remove the three bolts (3).
     (c) Remove the AODV (1).
     (d) Discard the packing (2).
   (3) Installation of protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
