A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Repair of the Silicone (RTV) Coating
(1) Remove the oil tank from the engine if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 79-11-10-000-001).
(2) Remove the coating
(3) Cleaning
(5) Prepare the sufficient quantity of silicone RTV 577 (Material No.CP2214) necessary for the repair. Add 0.5 per cent of catalyst and fully mix.
(6) Apply the silicone with a 0.04 in. (1.01 mm) to a minimum thickness of SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(7) Air cure for 8-16 hours at room temperature or bake to between 90 deg.C (194 deg.F) and 105 deg.C (221 ded.F) for 4 hours.
(8) Install the oil tank on the engine if removed before (Ref. AMM TASK 79-11-10-400-001).
5. Close-up(1) Remove the oil tank from the engine if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 79-11-10-000-001).
(2) Remove the coating
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE COATING, CAREFULLY PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE OIL TANK METAL SURFACE.
(a) Remove the damaged coating with a BRUSH - WIRE, ROTARY. (3) Cleaning
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
ACETONE IS EXPLOSIVE, AN IRRITANT, AN ALLERGEN, AND HAS POISONOUS DETERIORATION. USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE VAPOR/FUME CONTROL OR A RESPIRATOR.
(a) Fully clean the area to be coated and the adjacent area with acetone (Material No.CP1039) or stoddard solvent (Material No.CP2011) or ardrox 552 (Material No.CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No.CP2560) or mag-chem teksol (Material No.CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No.CP2584) or mag-chem skysol (Material No.CP2656) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) . Make it dry with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . NOTE: Do not touch the cleaned area with your hands.
(4) Apply a thin layer of primer (Material No.CP2215) to the surface to be coated, and let it dry for 30 to 45 minutes. (5) Prepare the sufficient quantity of silicone RTV 577 (Material No.CP2214) necessary for the repair. Add 0.5 per cent of catalyst and fully mix.
(6) Apply the silicone with a 0.04 in. (1.01 mm) to a minimum thickness of SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
