CHECK MASTER MAGNETIC CHIP DETECTOR FOR PARTICLES
(Inspection of the Electrical Master Chip Detector at scheduled intervals).
This inspection is required when the pop-out on the visual indicator is extended during operation.
This inspection is required when performing TSM Task 79-00-00-810-820/821 (Oil filter clogged). detection of particles and gives recommendations for Line Maintenance.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Open the fan cowls doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

4. Procedure

A. Inspection of the Electrical Master Chip Detector (EMCD)

Position of the Electrical Master Magnetic Chip Detector for Particles ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Inspect the Electrical Master Chip Detector (EMCD) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-281-004).
(a) If any findings, do a check of Fwd, Aft Sump, AGB and TGB Scavenge Screens (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-281-003) for further troubleshooting.
(b) If any findings, perform Ground Run for Additional Particle Collection (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-281-006) for further troubleshooting.
(c) If no findings, no further action.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040)
