WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

Subtask 78-36-42-941-065-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Nacelle Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for Nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).
4. Procedure
Subtask 78-36-42-420-054-A
A. Installation of the Left Hand (LH) Side Thrust Reverser HOR Engine Bracket

PRE SPOL BD-EBU-17022

   (1) Attach the LH side thrust reverser HOR engine bracket (6) to the E-flange of the aft fan case with the six washers (5), the three bolts (4) and the three nuts (3).
NOTE: The washers must be installed under the bolt head and under the nut.
NOTE: The bolts must be installed from the aft side of the bracket (6) and the nuts must be secured to the forward end of the bolts (4).
   (2) TORQUE the three bolts (4) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in ) T.
   (3) Install the P-clamp (2) with the engine fuel tube on the LH side thrust reverser HOR engine bracket (6) with the bolt (1).
   (4) TORQUE the bolt (1) to between 0.64 and 0.55 m.daN (56.64 and 48.67 lbf.in )

B. Installation of the Right Hand (RH) Side Thrust Reverser HOR Engine Bracket
   (1) Attach the RH side thrust reverser HOR engine bracket (7) to the E-flange of the aft fan case with the six washers (10), the three bolts (9) and the three nuts (8).
NOTE: The washers must be installed under the bolt head and under the nut.
NOTE: The bolts must be installed from the aft side of the bracket (7) and held by the nut installed on the forward side of the E-flange.
   (2) TORQUE the three bolts (9) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in ) T.
   (3) Install the two harnesses (11) on the RH side thrust reverser HOR engine bracket (7) clips.

C. Installation of the LH Side Thrust Reverser HOR Engine Bracket

POST SPOL BD-EBU-17022

   (1) Attach the LH side thrust reverser HOR engine bracket (6) to the E-flange of the aft fan case with the three bolts (4) and the three nuts (3).
NOTE: The bolts must be installed from the aft side of the bracket (6) and the nuts must be secured to the forward end of the bolts (4).
   (2) TORQUE the three nuts (3) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in ) T.
   (3) Install the P-clamp (2) with the engine fuel tube to the LH side thrust reverser HOR engine bracket (6) with the bolt (1).
   (4) TORQUE the bolt (1) to between 0.64 and 0.55 m.daN (56.64 and 48.67 lbf.in )

D. Installation of the RH Side Thrust Reverser HOR Engine Bracket
   (1) Attach the RH side thrust reverser HOR engine bracket (7) to the E-flange of the aft fan case with the three bolts (9) and the three nuts (8).
NOTE: The bolt must be installed from the aft side of the bracket (7) and held by the nut installed on the forward side of the E-flange.
   (2) TORQUE the three nuts (3) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in ) T.
   (3) Install the two harnesses (11) on the RH side thrust reverser HOR engine bracket (7) clips.
