This procedure is the same for the left and right thrust reverser cowl door hold open rods.

Subtask 78-36-04-941-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Subtask 78-36-04-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(2) Clean the four bolts (2) and four washers (3) with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) made moist withPU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl
(3) Clean the mating surfaces of the bracket at the bottom of the HOR (1) with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) made moist withPU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl .
(4) Remove thePU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl with a clean, dry lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before it dries.
(5) Mix thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant , PU4-0004A curing solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(6) Apply a layer of thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant mixture to the four washers (3) and the shaft of the four bolts (2).
(7) Apply a layer of thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant mixture to the mating surface of the bracket at the bottom of the hold open rod (1).
(8) Make sure the mixture on the bracket is more than the diameter of the washers (3).
(9) Attach the HOR (1) to the torque box bracket with the four bolts (2) and four washers (3).
(10) TORQUE the bolts (2) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )

(11) Make sure that you retract the end of the applicable HOR (1) to its stowed position.
(12) Connect the other end of the HOR (1) to the HOR stow bracket on the thrust reverser torque box.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). Subtask 78-36-04-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
A. Install the thrust reverser Hold Open Rod (HOR) (1). NOTE: There is one HOR on each thrust reverser half. This installation procedure is the same for each HOR.
(1) Removal of protection covers CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Clean the four bolts (2) and four washers (3) with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) made moist with

A. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).
