C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

(1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Remove the bifurcation latch system (BLS) latch blanket from the lower inner structure of the right thrust-reverser door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-71-000-802).

4. Procedure

CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

A. Removal of the BLS pin assembly (4) from the right thrust reverser door.
(1) Remove the bolt (1), washer (2), bushing (3), and nut (4) from the BLS pin assembly (5).
(2) Remove the BLS pin assembly (5) from the IFS.
(3) Installation of the protection covers

CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
