A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

C. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser:
Subtask 78-32-46-010-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser hydraulic control unit (HCU). (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012)D. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010)

E. Disconnect the five blocker-door drag links from the thrust reverser inner barrel (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-42-000-010).
Subtask 78-32-46-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL F. Close the thrust reverser halves, but only to a position where the translating cowl latches will not touch each other when the translating cowl is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010).
Subtask 78-32-46-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL G. Remove the two actuator access panels 451BL, 451CL, 452BR, 452CR (461BL, 461CL, 462BR, 462CR) located on the outer side of the translating cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-43-000-010) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-48-000-010).
4. ProcedureSubtask 78-32-46-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the bolts and the bushings which attach the ends of the locking actuator and the non-locking actuator to their translating cowl brackets. Do not turn the actuator rod ends. Tape the rod ends to the fixed structure with TAPE - ADHESIVE so that they will not turn (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-43-000-010) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-48-000-010).
Subtask 78-32-46-480-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL B. Attach the left translating sleeve handling tool, IAE1N20011 HANDLING TOOL-LH (2) to the translating cowl (1) at the three hoist fittings
Subtask 78-32-46-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL C. Removal of the translating Cowl:
(1) Carefully move the translating cowl (1) rearward until it clears the C-duct tracks.
(2) Remove the five blocker doors from the translating cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-45-000-010).
