Subtask 78-31-46-941-050-A
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-31-46-010-050-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). Subtask 78-31-46-220-050-A
A. Visual Inspection of the Thrust Reverser Actuator Fittings and Attachment to the Translating Sleeves
(2) Examine each actuator fitting for:
(5) Install the actuator access panel (2) on the transcowl (3) with the eight screws (1).
(6) TORQUE the screws (1) to between 0.31 and 0.26 m.daN (27.43 and 23.01 lbf.in )

(7) Repeat the steps (1) to (6) for the three other actuators.
5. Close-upNOTE: The inspection is the same for the four actuators.
NOTE: You can use the MIRROR - INSPECTION and the LIGHT SOURCE - HIGHPOWER to do this inspection.
(1) Remove the eight screws (1) and the actuator access panel (2) from the transcowl (3). (2) Examine each actuator fitting for:
- Corrosion
- Wear
- Cracks
- Loose, missing, or damaged fasteners
- Scratches, marks or dents.
NOTE: The actuator fitting is a clevis bracket that is attached to the translating cowl with ten fasteners. A bushing is installed in the actuator fitting hole that is nearest to the head of the bolt.
(3) Examine the bolt, nut, cotter pin and bushings that attach the actuator to the actuator fitting for: - Corrosion
- Missing parts
- Loose parts
- Wear
- Cracks.
(5) Install the actuator access panel (2) on the transcowl (3) with the eight screws (1).
(6) TORQUE the screws (1) to between 0.31 and 0.26 m.daN (27.43 and 23.01 lbf.in )
. (7) Repeat the steps (1) to (6) for the three other actuators.

A. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-807).
Subtask 78-31-46-410-050-A B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
