Subtask 78-30-10-941-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-30-10-020-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Remove the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-20-000-040).

NOTE: The fan and thrust reverser halves must stay in position the braces.

B. Support the Outboard Thrust Reverser Half with Removal Sling.
For ENG 1

Outboard Thrust Reverser Half for ENG 1 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

For ENG 2

Outboard Thrust Reverser Half for ENG 2 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Remove the thrust reverser pylon fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-56-00-000-002).
(a) Remove the hinge access panel :
1 Remove the eleven screws (4).
2 Remove the hinge access panel (2) from the thrust reverser half (3).
(2) Attach the thrust reverser sling and install the slat protection mat.

CAUTION: THE SLAT PROTECTION MAT MUST BE PLACED OVER THE SLATS BETWEEN THE SLATS AND THE THRUST REVERSER SLING TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE SLATS.

(a) Remove the threaded fasteners from the nut plates at each of the three hoist points on the thrust reverser half (3). Do not discard them.
(b) Attach the thrust reverser sling (1) IAE1N20002 SLING-FAN THRUST REVERSER, to the three sling points on the thrust reverser half.
(c) Position the 98D57003500000 PROTECTION-WING LEADING EDGE on the slats between the slats and the thrust reverser sling.
(d) Attach the sling to an applicable hoist.

Subtask 78-30-10-020-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

C. Remove the Outboard Fan Cowl and Thrust Reverser Half Brace.
(1) Put the outboard fan cowl hold open rod in to position to hold the weight of the fan cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).
(2) Remove the support arm from the outboard fan cowl and T/R half.

D. Remove the Outboard Fan Cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-010) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-16-000-010).

E. Get access to the Crossover Beam.
(1) Configuration 1 : Outboard T/R half not removed.

Outboard Thrust Reverser Half Hinges for ENG 2 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(a) At the position No.1 of the T/R half hinge:
1 Remove the nut (10), the washer (11) and the bolt (1).
(b) At the positions No.2 and No.3 of the T/R half hinge:
1 Loosen the nuts (8).
(c) At the position No.4 of the T/R half hinge:
1 Loosen the nut (6).
(2) Configuration 2 : Outboard T/R half removed.
(a) Remove the outboard T/R half

for ENG 1 (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-01-000-010)
for ENG 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-04-000-010)

F. Remove the forward crossover beam.

(1) Remove the cotter pin (1), the nut (2), the washer (3), the bolt (4) and the spacer (5) on the left and right sides of the crossover beam.
(2) Remove the forward crossover beam.
