Subtask 78-30-00-941-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-30-00-010-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.
C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser HCU
4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that: - the lockout lever (3) of the HCU (1) is in the lockout position.
- the storage lockout pin (2) is put in the lockout hole of the HCU.

A. Unlock the Left and Right Translating Sleeves
(1) Remove the plug (18) from the pin stowage bracket assembly (17) on the outside of each translating sleeve (14).
(2) Remove the lockout pin (16) from the lockout assembly (15) on the outside of each translating sleeve.
(3) Clean components:
(a) Clean the lockout pin (16) and the plug (18) withV01-076 Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade . Wipe dry with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) before the methylethylketone evaporates,
(b) Apply anti-seize compound (Material No.V10-078) to the lockout pin (16) and the plug (18).
(4) Install the lockout pin (16) in the pin stowage bracket assembly (17).
(5) Install the plug (18) in the lockout assembly (15) on the outside of each translating sleeve.
(6) Make sure that all the plugs and the lockout pins are aligned with the translating sleeve surfaces.
Subtask 78-30-00-440-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the plug (18) from the pin stowage bracket assembly (17) on the outside of each translating sleeve (14).
(2) Remove the lockout pin (16) from the lockout assembly (15) on the outside of each translating sleeve.
(3) Clean components:
(a) Clean the lockout pin (16) and the plug (18) with
(b) Apply anti-seize compound (Material No.V10-078) to the lockout pin (16) and the plug (18).
(4) Install the lockout pin (16) in the pin stowage bracket assembly (17).
(5) Install the plug (18) in the lockout assembly (15) on the outside of each translating sleeve.
(6) Make sure that all the plugs and the lockout pins are aligned with the translating sleeve surfaces.
B. Activate the Hydraulic Control Unit
(1) Remove the storage lockout pin (2) from the HCU (1) and let the lock lever (3) go back to the unlock position.
(2) Make sure that the lock lever (3) goes back to its full normal position.

(2) Make sure that the lock lever (3) goes back to its full normal position.
C. Change the inhibition status of the thrust reverser system from INHIBITED to NOT INHIBITED (POST SBE 73-0222 only) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-22-00-860-010).
5. Close-upSubtask 78-30-00-410-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
B. Operational Test
(1) Do the operational test of the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041).

NOTE: As an alternative procedure, you can do the operational test without the centralized fault display system:
- The method with the engine running (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041).
