A. Thrust Reverser Deactivation.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Do a check of the primary lock, as follows:
     (a) Make sure the blocker doors are closed and flush with the thrust reverser structure.
     (b) Pull the blocker door with your hand to make sure the door cannot open.
   (2) Make the Thrust Reverser Unserviceable.
     (a) Remove the quick-release pin from the operational position on the HCU (see sheet.1).
     (b) Move the inhibit lever from the operational position to the OFF position.
     (c) Install the quick-release pin to hold the inhibit lever in the OFF position (see sheet.2).
   (3) Do a test of the deploy switches and make sure that they are operative.
     (a) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system through the Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-042) and when the throttle control lever is in the reverse position:
  • check that the green or amber REV indication in the N1 indicator of the engine 1(2) does not appears
  • the ECAM warning ENG 1(2) REVERSER FAULT appears
  • check the T/R test report:
1 If the following message is present, replace the four deploy switches (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-17-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-17-400-001) and do the test again:
  • "DEPL SW, J5/J6,ECU"
2 If the following message is present, replace the four stow switches (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-18-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-18-400-001) and do the test again:
  • "STOW SW, J5/J6,ECU"
3 If the following message is present, replace the four deploy switches (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-17-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-17-400-001) and the four stow switches (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-18-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-18-000-001) and do the test again:
  • "DPLSTW SW,J5/6,ECU"
4 If the ECAM warning ENG 1(2) REV PRESSURIZED appears together with one of the following messages, do the troubleshooting procedure relative to the triggered maintenance messages:
  • "HCU(TRPV OPEN)" or "HCU(TRPV), HYD"
5 If one of the following messages is present, troubleshoot and do the test again:
  • "EIU,HCU" or "TR LOCK, TR ACT" or "TR LOCK, TR ACT DPLSW"
6 If the message "HCU (TRPV), HYD" or "HCU, TRSOV, HYD" is present and if there is no other message above mentioned, continue the deactivation procedure.
NOTE: The maintenance messages linked to the fault(s) occurred before the deactivation, can be recorded in this T/R test report.
   (4) Deactivation of the thrust reverser.
F Lockout Bolt and Lockplate ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Remove the bolts (3) that attach the lockplates (2) to the storage bracket (4).
