A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 77-21-43-010-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

A. Installation of the EGT Harness and Junction Box
PRE SBE 77-0015
EGT Harness at the Flange T and the Flange P Bracket Locations (PRE SBE 77-0015) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Install the EGT harness and the junction box (118) to the bracket (124) on the turbine exhaust case.
(b) Apply approved engine oils (Material No.V10-077) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-010) to the threads of the bolts (119).
(c) Install the bolts (119) and the nuts (117) which hold the EGT harness and junction box to the bracket.
(d) TORQUE the bolts (119) to between 95 and 85 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.96 m.daN )

(2) Attach the harness lugs to the thermocouples.
(b) Attach the harness lugs to the thermocouples.
(d) Tightening of the nuts.

2 TORQUE the chromel (smaller) nuts (100) to between 18 and 15 lbf.in (0.20 and 0.17 m.daN )

(3) Install the EGT core harness to the junction box (PRE SB 77-0009).
EGT Harness at the Flange T and the Flange P Bracket Locations (PRE SBE 77-0015) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Remove the nuts (122) on the junction box connections.
(b) Install the core EGT wiring harness (123) to the junction box.
(d) TORQUE the larger nuts (alumel) to between 32 and 18 lbf.in (0.36 and 0.20 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(e) TORQUE the smaller nuts (chromel) to between 18 and 15 lbf.in (0.20 and 0.17 m.daN )

(f) Install the junction box cover (121) and secure it with the four screws (120).
(g) TORQUE the screws (120) to between 22 and 16 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.18 m.daN )

(4) Install the EGT core harness to the junction box.

(b) Install the engine harness (123) to the junction box.
(d) TORQUE the larger nuts (alumel) to between 30 and 25 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.28 m.daN )

(e) TORQUE the smaller nuts (chromel) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

(f) Install the junction box cover (121) and secure it with the four screws (120).
(g) TORQUE the screws (120) to between 22 and 16 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.18 m.daN )

(6) Attach the harness clamps to the flange brackets.

(a) Install the harness clamps to the brackets (105), (113), (126) and (129) on Flange P on the left and the right sides of the engine.
(b) Attach the clamps with the bolts (106), (112), (128) and (127) and the nuts (104), (114), (125) and (130).
(c) Install the harness clamps to the bracket (116) on the boss of the case at the 6 o'clock position and attach them with the bolts (115).
(d) Install the harness clamps to the brackets (108) on Flange T on the lower portion of the exhaust case and attach them with the nuts (107).
(e) Attach the two clamps at the 4 o'clock and the 8 o'clock locations on the harness to the clamps (111) on the P4.9 manifold and attach them with the bolts (110) and the nuts (109).
(f) TORQUE all the harness clamp bolts to between 45 and 36 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.41 m.daN )

Subtask 77-21-43-420-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL PRE SBE 77-0015
NOTE: For more information about the minimum clearance allowed (Ref. AMM D/O 70-71-01-00).
(1) Install the EGT harness and junction box.
EGT Harness at the Flange T and the Flange P Bracket Locations (PRE SBE 77-0015) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (b) Apply approved engine oils (Material No.V10-077) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-010) to the threads of the bolts (119).
(c) Install the bolts (119) and the nuts (117) which hold the EGT harness and junction box to the bracket.
(d) TORQUE the bolts (119) to between 95 and 85 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.96 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (2) Attach the harness lugs to the thermocouples.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT THE TERMINAL LUG IS ALIGNED AND DOES NOT TOUCH THE INNER SURFACE OF THE COWL WHEN IT IS TIGHTENED TO PREVENT THE EGT HARNESS FROM BEING WORN-OUT WITH THE COWL.
(a) Remove the four nuts, two of each (100) and (102) and the washers, two of each (101) and (103) from the thermocouples (at four locations). (b) Attach the harness lugs to the thermocouples.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE LUBRICATION ON THREADS OF THERMOCOUPLE CONNECTIONS. ENGINE OIL CAN CONTAMINATE EGT HARNESS INSULATION MATERIAL AND RESULT IN ERRATIC OR UNRELIABLE EGT INDICATION.
(c) Install the four washers, two of each (101) and (103) and the four nuts, two of each (100) and (102).(d) Tightening of the nuts.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TIGHTEN NUTS MORE THAN MAXIMUM TORQUE. TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN DAMAGE THE THERMOCOUPLE STUDS AND RESULT IN ERRATIC OR UNRELIABLE EGT INDICATION.
1 TORQUE the alumel (larger) nuts (102) to between 22 and 18 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.20 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). 2 TORQUE the chromel (smaller) nuts (100) to between 18 and 15 lbf.in (0.20 and 0.17 m.daN )

(3) Install the EGT core harness to the junction box (PRE SB 77-0009).
EGT Harness at the Flange T and the Flange P Bracket Locations (PRE SBE 77-0015) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (b) Install the core EGT wiring harness (123) to the junction box.
CAUTION:

(c) Install the nuts to the junction box connections.(d) TORQUE the larger nuts (alumel) to between 32 and 18 lbf.in (0.36 and 0.20 m.daN )

(4) Install the EGT core harness to the junction box.

CAUTION:
DO NOT USE LUBRICATION ON THREADS OF THERMOCOUPLE CONNECTIONS. ENGINE OIL CAN CONTAMINATE EGT HARNESS INSULATION MATERIAL AND RESULT IN ERRATIC OR UNRELIABLE EGT INDICATION.
CAUTION:
ONCE A NEW STYLE NUT IS INSTALLED ONTO THE MATING STUD, YOU MUST NOT INSTALL AN OLD NUT ON THAT STUD.
(c) Install the nuts to the junction box connections.(d) TORQUE the larger nuts (alumel) to between 30 and 25 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.28 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (e) TORQUE the smaller nuts (chromel) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

(g) TORQUE the screws (120) to between 22 and 16 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.18 m.daN )

(5) Safety the screws (120) with lockwire (Material No.V02-127) . (6) Attach the harness clamps to the flange brackets.

EGT Harness at the Flange T and the Flange P Bracket Locations (PRE SBE 77-0015) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (b) Attach the clamps with the bolts (106), (112), (128) and (127) and the nuts (104), (114), (125) and (130).
(c) Install the harness clamps to the bracket (116) on the boss of the case at the 6 o'clock position and attach them with the bolts (115).
(d) Install the harness clamps to the brackets (108) on Flange T on the lower portion of the exhaust case and attach them with the nuts (107).
(e) Attach the two clamps at the 4 o'clock and the 8 o'clock locations on the harness to the clamps (111) on the P4.9 manifold and attach them with the bolts (110) and the nuts (109).
(f) TORQUE all the harness clamp bolts to between 45 and 36 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.41 m.daN )

B. Installation of the Core EGT Harness on the High Pressure Compressor (HPC)
PRE SBE 77-0015
(1) Connect the core EGT harness to the junction box.
EGT Harness at the Flange T and the Flange P Bracket Locations (PRE SBE 77-0015) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Remove the nuts from the junction box terminals.
(b) Install the harness lugs to the junction box terminals.
(c) Attach the core EGT harness to the junction box terminals and install the four nuts (122).
(2) Install the bolts, the washers and the nuts at three clip positions 5523, 6055 and 5734 (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-43-400-804).
(3) Install the bolts, the washers, the clamps and the nuts at ten clip positions 5551, 5211, 5529, 5550, 5527, 5549, 6052, 6051, 6053 and 6054 (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-43-400-804).
(4) Install the four clips to the positions 6086, 6085, 5553 and 5552 (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-43-400-804).
(5) Install the electrical connector 4007VC-A to the electrical receptacle 4007VC (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-43-400-804).

Subtask 77-21-43-942-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL PRE SBE 77-0015
(1) Connect the core EGT harness to the junction box.

(c) Attach the core EGT harness to the junction box terminals and install the four nuts (122).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(d) Install the screws (120) to attach the junction box cover (121) and safety with lockwire (Material No.V02-127) .(2) Install the bolts, the washers and the nuts at three clip positions 5523, 6055 and 5734 (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-43-400-804).
(3) Install the bolts, the washers, the clamps and the nuts at ten clip positions 5551, 5211, 5529, 5550, 5527, 5549, 6052, 6051, 6053 and 6054 (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-43-400-804).
(4) Install the four clips to the positions 6086, 6085, 5553 and 5552 (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-43-400-804).
(5) Install the electrical connector 4007VC-A to the electrical receptacle 4007VC (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-43-400-804).

C. Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 77-21-43-720-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL D. Test requirements:
(1) Do an operational test of the FADEC (Ref. AMM TASK 73-22-00-710-040) and a check on CFDS to make sure no fault is shown related to the EGT harness.
(2) Do an idle leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-012).
(3) On the upper ECAM DU, make sure that the EGT indication is available.
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the FADEC (Ref. AMM TASK 73-22-00-710-040) and a check on CFDS to make sure no fault is shown related to the EGT harness.
(2) Do an idle leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-012).
(3) On the upper ECAM DU, make sure that the EGT indication is available.
