A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

D. Open the right thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
   (1) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
WARNING: BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER. IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP. AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.

A. Removal of the TBV
   (1) Disconnect the HJ8A harness electrical connector (5) from the TBV (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
   (2) Disconnect the fuel manifold (2) and the fuel manifold (3) from the TBV (1) as follows:
     (a) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the fuel manifold and the drain tube connections of the TBV (1).
     (b) Disconnect the fuel manifold (3) from the C1 fitting of the TBV (1).
     (c) Disconnect the fuel manifold (2) from the C2 fitting of the TBV (1).
   (3) Disconnect the drain tube (4) from the TBV (1).

   (4) Remove the four bolts (10) that attach the air tube (11) to the bracket (9).
   (5) Loosen the four bolts (13) that attach the air tube (7) to the bracket (12).

   (6) Loosen the V-band coupling (16) that attaches the air tube (11) to the air tube (18).

   (7) Remove the two bolts (20) that attach the air tube (11) to the bracket (21).

   (8) Loosen the V-band coupling (17) that attaches the air tube (11) to the air tube (19).
   (9) Remove the V-band coupling (14) that attaches the TBV (1) to the air tube (11).
   (10) Hold the TBV (1) and remove the V-band coupling (8) that attaches the TBV (1) to the air tube (7).
   (11) Remove the TBV (1) from the engine.
   (12) Remove and discard the seal (6) and the seal (15).
   (13) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and the disconnected connectors.

B. Preservation of the TBV
   (1) In the instance of shipping or prolonged storage, preserve the TBV (1) per the CMM 753305.
