Removal of the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Bleed Active Valve Solenoid

   (1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 75-32-03-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the HPC Bleed Active Valve Solenoid
   (1) Find the HPC bleed active valve solenoid (5) at the 11:30 position on the HPC.
   (2) Disconnection of the wiring harness
CAUTION: DO NOT BEND OR TWIST THE HARNESS TOO MUCH. IF YOU DO, DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) connector (P56) from the solenoid (5) receptacle (J56).
   (3) Disconnection of the tube
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
     (a) Disconnect the tube (AA31) (1) from the tube (AA28).
   (4) Remove the tube (AA31) (1) from the solenoid (5).
   (5) Remove the bolt (2) that holds the clamp (4) and tube (AA29) (3) to the bracket.
   (6) Disconnect the tube (AA29) (3) from the manifold (AA32).
   (7) Remove the tube (AA29) (3) from the solenoid (5).
   (8) Loosen the four captive bolts and remove the solenoid (5) from the bracket.
   (9) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
