C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 75-31-02-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER.
IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 75-31-02-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) Primary
(1) Find the actuator (1) located on the HPC at the 3 o'clock position.
(2) Remove the actuator (1) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) and (WC08) connectors (P24) and (P25) from the actuator (1) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(b) Remove the nut (12) and bolt (11) that attach the actuator piston to the actuator link.
(c) Put the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the actuator (1).
(d) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) under the actuator (1).
(e) Disconnect the tubes as follow:
2 Disconnect the servo pressure fuel tube (CP03) from the actuator (1).
3 Remove the servo pressure fuel tube (CP15) from the actuator (1).
4 Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (CR03) from the actuator (1).
5 Remove the servo return fuel tube (CR15) from the actuator (1).
6 Remove the two bolts (13) that attach the actuator (1) to the HPC bracket.
7 Loosen the three captive bolts that attach the actuator (1) to the SVA lever housing.
8 Remove the actuator (1) from the engine.
(3) Installation of the protection covers
(1) Find the actuator (1) located on the HPC at the 3 o'clock position.
(2) Remove the actuator (1) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) and (WC08) connectors (P24) and (P25) from the actuator (1) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(b) Remove the nut (12) and bolt (11) that attach the actuator piston to the actuator link.
(c) Put the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the actuator (1).
(d) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) under the actuator (1).
(e) Disconnect the tubes as follow:
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
1 Disconnect the drain tube (DR21) from the bottom of the actuator (1). 2 Disconnect the servo pressure fuel tube (CP03) from the actuator (1).
3 Remove the servo pressure fuel tube (CP15) from the actuator (1).
4 Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (CR03) from the actuator (1).
5 Remove the servo return fuel tube (CR15) from the actuator (1).
6 Remove the two bolts (13) that attach the actuator (1) to the HPC bracket.
7 Loosen the three captive bolts that attach the actuator (1) to the SVA lever housing.
8 Remove the actuator (1) from the engine.
(3) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
