A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.
Subtask 75-22-49-010-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

Subtask 75-22-49-630-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL D. Remove the applicable CAP - BLANKING, COVER - PROTECTION and PLUG - BLANKING on all the openings.
4. ProcedureSubtask 75-22-49-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the cold buffer air tube (2). See sheet 4 of the figure.
(1) Make sure that the cold buffer air tube (2) mating faces on the air cooled are not damaged.
(2) Put the cold buffer air tube (2) in position on the engine.
(3) Loosely attach the cold buffer air tube (2) to the No.4 bearing compartment cooler with the AIPC 75-22-41-80-170 GASKET (27) and the bolts (26).
Subtask 75-22-49-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the cold buffer air tube (2) mating faces on the air cooled are not damaged.
(2) Put the cold buffer air tube (2) in position on the engine.
(3) Loosely attach the cold buffer air tube (2) to the No.4 bearing compartment cooler with the AIPC 75-22-41-80-170 GASKET (27) and the bolts (26).
B. Install the cold buffer air tube (2). See sheets 3 and 5 of the figure
(1) Install the bolt (32) and the washer (33) to the clip nut (37) that attaches the clip (34) to the bracket (36) at detail G.
(2) Install the bolt (38) and the washer (39) to the clip nut (43) that attaches the clip (40) to the bracket (42) at detail H.
(3) Install the bolt (44) and the washer (45) to the clip nut (49) that attaches the clip (46) to the bracket (48) at detail J.
(4) Make sure the cold buffer air tube (2) is positioned correctly and TORQUE the bolts (26) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(5) TORQUE the bolts (32), (38) and (44) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(6) Install the HPT/LPT ACC air valve (Ref. AMM TASK 75-24-51-400-010).
Subtask 75-22-49-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the bolt (32) and the washer (33) to the clip nut (37) that attaches the clip (34) to the bracket (36) at detail G.
(2) Install the bolt (38) and the washer (39) to the clip nut (43) that attaches the clip (40) to the bracket (42) at detail H.
(3) Install the bolt (44) and the washer (45) to the clip nut (49) that attaches the clip (46) to the bracket (48) at detail J.
(4) Make sure the cold buffer air tube (2) is positioned correctly and TORQUE the bolts (26) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (5) TORQUE the bolts (32), (38) and (44) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (6) Install the HPT/LPT ACC air valve (Ref. AMM TASK 75-24-51-400-010).
C. Install the cold buffer air tube (24). See sheets 4 and 5 of the figure.
(1) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (24) to the diffuser case adapter (25).
(2) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (24) to the tee adaptor on the cold buffer air tube (2).
(3) Install the bolt (28), the washer (29) and the nut (31) that attach the clip (30) to the lug on the cold buffer air tube (24) at detail F.
(4) Make sure the cold buffer air tube (24) is positioned correctly. Use a IAE1R18000 WRENCH and TORQUE the tube nut of the cold buffer air tube (24) to between 345 and 319 lbf.in (3.90 and 3.60 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the cold buffer air tube (2).
(5) Safety the tube nut.
(6) Torque of the tube nut.
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the diffuser case adapter (25). Safety the tube nut with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-141) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
(7) TORQUE the nut (31) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 75-22-49-420-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (24) to the diffuser case adapter (25).
(2) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (24) to the tee adaptor on the cold buffer air tube (2).
(3) Install the bolt (28), the washer (29) and the nut (31) that attach the clip (30) to the lug on the cold buffer air tube (24) at detail F.
(4) Make sure the cold buffer air tube (24) is positioned correctly. Use a IAE1R18000 WRENCH and TORQUE the tube nut of the cold buffer air tube (24) to between 345 and 319 lbf.in (3.90 and 3.60 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the cold buffer air tube (2). (5) Safety the tube nut.

(a) Safety the tube nut with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-141) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014). (6) Torque of the tube nut.

(a) Use a IAE1R18000 WRENCH and TORQUE the tube nut of the cold buffer air tube (24) to between 345 and 319 lbf.in (3.90 and 3.60 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the diffuser case adapter (25). Safety the tube nut with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-141) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014). (7) TORQUE the nut (31) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). D. Install the cold buffer air tube (1). See sheet 1 of the figure.
(1) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (1) to the diffuser case adapter (5).
(2) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (1) to the tee adaptor on the cold buffer air tube (2).
(3) Make sure the cold buffer air tube (1) is positioned correctly. Use a IAE1R18000 WRENCH and TORQUE the tube nut of the cold buffer air tube (1) to between 345 and 319 lbf.in (3.90 and 3.60 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the cold buffer air tube (2).
(4) Safety the tube nut.
(5) Torque of the tube nut.
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the diffuser case adapter (5). Safety the tube nut with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-141) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
Subtask 75-22-49-420-055-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (1) to the diffuser case adapter (5).
(2) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (1) to the tee adaptor on the cold buffer air tube (2).
(3) Make sure the cold buffer air tube (1) is positioned correctly. Use a IAE1R18000 WRENCH and TORQUE the tube nut of the cold buffer air tube (1) to between 345 and 319 lbf.in (3.90 and 3.60 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the cold buffer air tube (2). (4) Safety the tube nut.

(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the diffuser case adapter (5). Safety the tube nut with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-141) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014). E. Install the cold buffer air tube (3). See sheets 1 and 2 of the figure.
(1) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (3) to the diffuser case adapter (4).
(2) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (3) to the tee adapter on the cold buffer air tube (2).
(3) Install the bolt (6) and the washer (7) to the clip nut (11) that attaches the clip (8) to the bracket (10) at detail B.
(4) Install the bolt (12) and the washer (13) to the clip nut (17) that attaches the clip (14) to the bracket (16) at detail C.
(5) Install the bolt (18) and the washer (19) to the clip nut (23) that attaches the clip (20) to the bracket (22) at detail D.
(6) Make sure the cold buffer air tube (3) is positioned correctly. Use a IAE1R18000 WRENCH and TORQUE the tube nut of the cold buffer air tube (3) to between 345 and 319 lbf.in (3.90 and 3.60 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the cold buffer air tube (2).
(7) Safety the tube nut.
(8) Torque of the tube nut.
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the diffuser case adapter (4). Safety the tube nut with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-141) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
(9) TORQUE the bolts (6), (12) and (18) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 75-22-49-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (3) to the diffuser case adapter (4).
(2) Loosely connect the cold buffer air tube (3) to the tee adapter on the cold buffer air tube (2).
(3) Install the bolt (6) and the washer (7) to the clip nut (11) that attaches the clip (8) to the bracket (10) at detail B.
(4) Install the bolt (12) and the washer (13) to the clip nut (17) that attaches the clip (14) to the bracket (16) at detail C.
(5) Install the bolt (18) and the washer (19) to the clip nut (23) that attaches the clip (20) to the bracket (22) at detail D.
(6) Make sure the cold buffer air tube (3) is positioned correctly. Use a IAE1R18000 WRENCH and TORQUE the tube nut of the cold buffer air tube (3) to between 345 and 319 lbf.in (3.90 and 3.60 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the cold buffer air tube (2). (7) Safety the tube nut.

(a) Use a IAE1R18000 WRENCH and TORQUE the tube nut of the cold buffer air tube (3) to between 345 and 319 lbf.in (3.90 and 3.60 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) where it attaches to the diffuser case adapter (4). Safety the tube nut with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire (Material No.V02-141) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014). (9) TORQUE the bolts (6), (12) and (18) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). F. Install the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1).
(1) Loosely connect the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1) to the No.4 bearing compartment scavenge valve.
(2) Loosely connect the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1) to the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (2).
(3) Install the bolt (3), the washer (4) and the nut (7) that attach the clip (5) to the lug on the raceway (6) at detail B.
(4) Install the bolt (8), the washer (10) and the nut (11) that attach the clip (9) to the lug on the raceway (6) at detail C.
(5) Install the bolt (12), the washer (13) and the nut (15) that attach the clip (14) to the lug on the raceway (6) at detail D.
(6) Make sure the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1) is positioned correctly and TORQUE the tube nuts of the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1) to between 221 and 204 lbf.in (2.50 and 2.31 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(7) Safety the tube nuts.
(8) TORQUE the nuts (7), (11) and (15) to between 45 and 36 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
5. Close-up(1) Loosely connect the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1) to the No.4 bearing compartment scavenge valve.
(2) Loosely connect the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1) to the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (2).
(3) Install the bolt (3), the washer (4) and the nut (7) that attach the clip (5) to the lug on the raceway (6) at detail B.
(4) Install the bolt (8), the washer (10) and the nut (11) that attach the clip (9) to the lug on the raceway (6) at detail C.
(5) Install the bolt (12), the washer (13) and the nut (15) that attach the clip (14) to the lug on the raceway (6) at detail D.
(6) Make sure the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1) is positioned correctly and TORQUE the tube nuts of the No.4 bearing scavenge valve air tube (1) to between 221 and 204 lbf.in (2.50 and 2.31 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (7) Safety the tube nuts.
