WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 73-21-60-941-060-A

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:

The ENG/MODE selector switch
The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-60-420-059-A

A. Installation of the HJ3A Engine Wiring Harness (4149KS)
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Install the HJ3A engine wiring harness (2) in the correct position in 21 the clips (1) along its routing.
(4) Installation of the bolt on the clamp to attach the HJ3A engine wiring harness (2):
(a) Install the bolt (4) to the clamp (5) and tighten it with your hand.
(b) TORQUE the bolt (4) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

CAUTION: YOU MUST NOT USE PLIERS WITH METAL JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE CONNECTOR. THE METAL JAWS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CONNECTOR.

(5) Connection of the HJ3A engine wiring harness (4149KS) (2) connectors to the receptacles:

NOTE: Only if necessary, use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to connect the electrical connectors.

(a) Connect the HJ3A engine wiring harness (2) connector P31A to the Permanent Magnet Alternator (PMA) stator channel A receptacle (3040KS) (6) (at the 9 o'clock position).
(b) Connect the HJ3A engine wiring harness (2) connector P3A to the EEC channel A J3 receptacle (4601KS1) (3) (at the 3 o'clock position).
(c) Tighten the electrical harness connectors until you cannot see the color marks on the receptacles.
(d) Make sure that the electrical harness connectors do not move after you fully engage them.

5. Close-up

A. Test
(1) Do the FADEC test (Menu Mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-802).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
