Installation of the Permanent Magnet Alternator (PMA) Stator
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 73-21-40-010-060-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

A. Installation of the PMA Stator
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Lubricate the threads and the new parts.
(4) Install the new gasket (6) on the PMA stator (1):
(a) Install the two screws (7) that attach the gasket (6) to the PMA stator (1).
(b) TORQUE the two screws (7) to between 13 and 11 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.12 m.daN )
.
(5) Install the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE in the four bolts holes of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) pad.
(6) Align the four bolt holes of the PMA stator (1) with the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE.
(7) Install the PMA stator (1) in the correct position on the AGB pad.
(8) Remove the two of the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE from the opposite position.
(9) Install the two bolts (9) and the two washers (8) on the PMA stator (1) and tighten them with your hand.
(10) Remove the other two 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE.
(11) Install the two bolts (10) and the two washers (11) on the PMA stator (1) and tighten them with your hand.
(12) TORQUE the two bolts (9) to between 123.9 and 112.1 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.27 m.daN )

(13) TORQUE the two bolts (10) to between 123.9 and 112.1 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.27 m.daN )
.
(14) Connection of the harness electrical connectors to the PMA stator (1):
(b) Connect the HJ3A harness electrical connector (4) to the HJ3A harness receptacle (5).
5. Close-up(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Lubricate the threads and the new parts.
WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
(a) Lubricate the threads of the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE, the two bolts (10), the two bolts (9), the new EIPC 73-21-40-01-025 GASKET (6) with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) . (4) Install the new gasket (6) on the PMA stator (1):
(a) Install the two screws (7) that attach the gasket (6) to the PMA stator (1).
(b) TORQUE the two screws (7) to between 13 and 11 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.12 m.daN )
. (5) Install the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE in the four bolts holes of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) pad.
(6) Align the four bolt holes of the PMA stator (1) with the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE.
(7) Install the PMA stator (1) in the correct position on the AGB pad.
(8) Remove the two of the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE from the opposite position.
(9) Install the two bolts (9) and the two washers (8) on the PMA stator (1) and tighten them with your hand.
(10) Remove the other two 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE.
(11) Install the two bolts (10) and the two washers (11) on the PMA stator (1) and tighten them with your hand.
(12) TORQUE the two bolts (9) to between 123.9 and 112.1 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.27 m.daN )
. (13) TORQUE the two bolts (10) to between 123.9 and 112.1 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.27 m.daN )
. (14) Connection of the harness electrical connectors to the PMA stator (1):
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Connect the HJ3B harness electrical connector (3) to the HJ3B harness receptacle (2). (b) Connect the HJ3A harness electrical connector (4) to the HJ3A harness receptacle (5).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
