Installation of the Fuel Return Hose from the Fuel Return Valve (FRV) to the Pylon
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES.
IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER.
IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP.
AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 73-11-49-010-068-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
Subtask 73-11-49-420-057-A
A. Installation of the Fuel Return Hose from the FRV to the Pylon
(1) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from all open ports, tubes and hoses.
(2) Install the fuel return hose (4) as follows:
(a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (6) with Synthetic base lubricating oil - turbine engine (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
(b) Put a new AIPC 73-11-49-03-020 GASKET (3) in position on the upper flange of the fuel return hose (4).
(c) Attach the upper flange of the fuel return hose (4) to the flange of the pylon interface (2) with the bolts (6) and the spacers (5).
(d) Tighten the bolts (6) with your hand.
(e) Connect the lower end of the fuel return hose (4) to the fitting on the FRV (7).
(f) TRIPLE TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 0.37 and 0.31 m.daN (32.74 and 27.43 lbf.in )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-814).
(g) Put a mark on the connection after tightening (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(h) TORQUE the tube nut on the fuel return hose (4) at the fitting on the FRV (7) as follows:
2 TRIPLE TORQUE the tube nut on the fuel return hose (4) to between 6.00 and 5.20 m.daN (44.25 and 38.35 lbf.ft )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-814).
5. Close-up(1) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from all open ports, tubes and hoses.
(2) Install the fuel return hose (4) as follows:
(a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (6) with Synthetic base lubricating oil - turbine engine (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
(b) Put a new AIPC 73-11-49-03-020 GASKET (3) in position on the upper flange of the fuel return hose (4).
(c) Attach the upper flange of the fuel return hose (4) to the flange of the pylon interface (2) with the bolts (6) and the spacers (5).
(d) Tighten the bolts (6) with your hand.
(e) Connect the lower end of the fuel return hose (4) to the fitting on the FRV (7).
(f) TRIPLE TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 0.37 and 0.31 m.daN (32.74 and 27.43 lbf.in )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-814). (g) Put a mark on the connection after tightening (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(h) TORQUE the tube nut on the fuel return hose (4) at the fitting on the FRV (7) as follows:
CAUTION:
USE THE COUNTER WRENCH TO LOOSEN THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS. OTHER WRENCHES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
1 Use a counter WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the fitting on the FRV (7). 2 TRIPLE TORQUE the tube nut on the fuel return hose (4) to between 6.00 and 5.20 m.daN (44.25 and 38.35 lbf.ft )

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
