Subtask 73-11-48-020-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Remove the bolt (2), washer (3) and clamp (4) that attach the lower fuel return tube (1) to the lower fuel bracket.
(b) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the elbow (5) on the fuel return valve.
(c) Disconnect the elbow (5) from the fuel return valve.
(d) Drain the remaining fuel from the lower fuel return tube (1) and the fuel return valve into the container.
(e) Remove the elbow (5) from the lower fuel return tube (1).
(2) Remove the lower fuel return tube (1).
(a) Remove the bolt (8), washer (7) and clamp (6) that attach the lower fuel return tube (1) to the middle fuel bracket.
(b) Disconnect the lower fuel return tube (1) from the upper fuel return tube (12).
(c) Remove the lower fuel return tube (1).
(3) Remove the upper fuel return tube (12).
(a) Remove the bolt (10), washer (11) and clamp (9) that attach the upper fuel return tube (12) to the harness bracket.
(b) Remove the bolt (14), washer (11) and clamp (13) that attach the upper fuel return tube (12) to the return fuel bracket.
(c) Remove the bolt (17), washer (16) and clamp (18) that attach the upper fuel return tube (12) to the return fuel bracket.
(d) Disconnect the upper fuel return tube (12) from the return fuel hose (15).
(e) Remove the upper fuel return tube (12).
(4) Remove the return fuel hose (15).
(a) Disconnect the return fuel hose (15) from the pylon interface.
(b) Remove the return fuel hose (15).
(5) Installation of the protection covers
(b) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the pylon interface and on the return valve.

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). F. Get Access
(1) Open the left thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE TUBES OR HOSES OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
A. Removal of the Return Fuel Lines NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD when you loosen or tighten the tube or hose nuts.
(1) Remove the elbow (5). (a) Remove the bolt (2), washer (3) and clamp (4) that attach the lower fuel return tube (1) to the lower fuel bracket.
(b) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the elbow (5) on the fuel return valve.
(c) Disconnect the elbow (5) from the fuel return valve.
(d) Drain the remaining fuel from the lower fuel return tube (1) and the fuel return valve into the container.
(e) Remove the elbow (5) from the lower fuel return tube (1).
(2) Remove the lower fuel return tube (1).
(a) Remove the bolt (8), washer (7) and clamp (6) that attach the lower fuel return tube (1) to the middle fuel bracket.
(b) Disconnect the lower fuel return tube (1) from the upper fuel return tube (12).
(c) Remove the lower fuel return tube (1).
(3) Remove the upper fuel return tube (12).
(a) Remove the bolt (10), washer (11) and clamp (9) that attach the upper fuel return tube (12) to the harness bracket.
(b) Remove the bolt (14), washer (11) and clamp (13) that attach the upper fuel return tube (12) to the return fuel bracket.
(c) Remove the bolt (17), washer (16) and clamp (18) that attach the upper fuel return tube (12) to the return fuel bracket.
(d) Disconnect the upper fuel return tube (12) from the return fuel hose (15).
(e) Remove the upper fuel return tube (12).
(4) Remove the return fuel hose (15).
(a) Disconnect the return fuel hose (15) from the pylon interface.
(b) Remove the return fuel hose (15).
(5) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the elbow (5), the lower fuel return tube (1), the upper fuel return tube (12) and the return fuel hose (15). (b) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the pylon interface and on the return valve.
