B. Do a visual inspection of the items that follow:
INSPECT/CHECK
MAXIMUM SERVICEABLE LIMITS
REMARKS
1.Fuel manifold tubes for:

  • Cracks, splits or kinks.
Not serviceable.
Replace the engine.
  • Wrinkles in bends.
The depth must not be more than 3 percent of the nominal tube diameter or 1.52 mm (0.06 in.) deep whichever is smaller.
Replace the engine.
  • Dents.
No more than 2 in each linear foot, provided the depth is not more than 10 percent of the tube OD and the radius is not less than 2 times the thickness of the tube wall.
Replace the engine.
  • Flat areas.
Length must not be more than 2 times the tube OD, or the contour change must not be more than 10 percent of the tube OD.
Replace the engine.
  • Nicks, scratches, chafing or scores in the straight or bent sections.
0.005 in. (0.13 mm) maximum depth.
Replace the engine.
2.Tube coupling nuts for:

  • Damaged corners.
Any amount provided you can get the correct torque.
Replace the engine.
  • Damaged thread.
One half thread total or continuous not there.
Replace the engine.
  • Lockwire hole deformation and wear.
Permitted provided the metal around the hole is not cracked.
Replace the engine.
  • Lockwire hole torn open.
Permitted provided one hole for each coupling nut stays intact.
Replace the engine.
3.Fitting seating surfaces for:
NOTE: Do this portion of the fuel manifold inspection if you think you have a leak, if you find damage after you remove a fuel nozzle, or if you see visual damage.
NOTE: If not already done, disconnect the fuel supply tube from applicable fuel nozzle (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-40-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-40-400-002).

  • Circumferential and axial scratches in areas A and C.
Any amount 0.13 mm (0.005 in.) or less in depth after the removal of high metal.
Replace the engine.
  • Circumferential scratches in area B
Any amount that cannot be felt using a 1 mm (0.04 in.) radius ball scribe.
Replace the engine.
  • Axial scratches in area B.
Not serviceable.
Replace the engine.
  • Nicks and pits in area C.
