4. Procedure
Subtask 72-23-00-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fan Outlet Guide Vane and/or OGV Seal

PRE SB CFM 72-097 (aluminum OGV)

   (1) Install the OGV seal (20) in its recess.

POST SB CFM 72-097 (composite OGV)

   (2) Apply a thin layer of molykote G rapid (Material No.CP2104) to the 4 faces of inner platform of OGV (10). Take care not to apply lubricant on the OGV airfoil.

PRE SB CFM 72-097 (aluminum OGV)

   (3) Install the outlet guide vane as follows:
   (4) Engage the OGV (10) inner platform into aft fairing recess.
   (5) Push the OGV (10) outer platform forward between adjacent vanes, and up against inner diameter of fan case.

POST SB CFM 72-097 (composite OGV)

   (6) Install the outlet guide vane as follows:
   (7) Put the OGV (10), L.E. forward, in a forward-inclined position that gives the outer platform enough clearance relative to the fan case; then engage the inner platform into the recess of the OGV support fairing and,
   (8) Move the OGV outer platform rearward, between the adjacent outlet guide vanes, and up against the inner diameter of the fan case.

PRE SB CFM 72-097 (aluminum OGV)

   (9) Install the two lateral fairings (50).

POST SB CFM 72-097 (composite OGV)

   (10) Not applicable

PRE SB CFM 72-097 (aluminum OGV)

   (11) Attach the outlet guide vane and the fairings as follows:
   (12) Apply a thin layer of graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) to the threads of 4 bolts (40), and attach the 2 lateral fairings (50) and the OGV (10) with these bolts.
   (13) TORQUE bolts to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN ) T.
   (14) Install the bolt plugs (30) in the recess of the 4 bolt heads (40).

POST SB CFM 72-097 (composite OGV)

   (15) Attach the OGV as follows:
   (16) Apply a thin layer of graphite grease (Material No.
CP2101) to the threads of 2 bolts (40). Install washers (45) on bolts, and attach the OGV (10) with bolts.
   (17) TORQUE bolts to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN ) T.
   (18) Install the bolt plugs (30) in the recess of the 2 bolt heads (40).

PRE SB CFM 72-097 (aluminum OGV)

   (19) Not applicable

POST SB CFM 72-097 (composite OGV)

   (20) If necessary, carefully remove the old RTV sealant from the edges of the acoustical panels adjacent to the replacement OGV.
   (21) Apply new RTV 732 (Material No.
CP2242) between the front and rear edges of the OGV outer platform and the adjacent acoustical panels to smooth the transition between OGV and panels. SPM 706612
