A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT).
   (3) Put the MAT - PROTECTIVE inside the engine intake cowl.
4. Procedure
Subtask 72-15-00-960-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Replacement of the Fan Shaft Cover
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Remove the inlet cone (Ref. AMM TASK 72-11-01-000-801).
   (2) Remove the fan shaft cover (2) with the PWA111679 PULLER, JACKSCREW as follows:
F Fan Shaft Cover Removal ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Remove the retaining ring (3).
     (b) Loosen the hex nut on the PWA111679 PULLER, JACKSCREW.
     (c) Turn the dowel pins to move the arms to the UNLOCKED position.
     (d) Install the PWA111679 PULLER, JACKSCREW on the cover (2).
     (e) Turn the dowel pins to move the arms to the LOCKED position to engage the arms of the PWA111679 PULLER, JACKSCREW in the inner diameter of the cover (2).
     (f) Tighten the hex nut until the cover (2) disengages from the fan shaft.
     (g) Remove the cover (2) from the fan shaft.
     (h) Remove the PWA111679 PULLER, JACKSCREW from the cover (2).
     (i) Remove and discard the packing (1) from the cover (2).
   (3) Install the fan shaft cover (2) as follows:
F Fan Shaft Cover Installation ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine to a new EIPC 72-11-06-01-170 PACKING PREFORMED (1).
     (b) Install the packing (1) to the cover (2).
     (c) Install the cover (2) to the fan shaft.
     (d) Install the retaining ring (3) to the fan shaft.
   (4) Install the inlet cone (
Ref. AMM TASK 72-11-01-400-801).
   (5) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
5. Close-up
Subtask 72-15-00-942-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the MAT - PROTECTIVE from the engine intake cowl.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

   (1) Do test No. 3 - Idle power test (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-720-811).
