WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 72-00-00-941-265-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Install the MAT - PROTECTIVE in the lower half of the inlet cowl.

A. Inspection of the Fan Blade if it is Seized into the Abradable Strip after Tail Windmilling
NOTE: All the necessary inspections are visual unless the text gives other instructions.
   (1) Inspection recommendations:
     (a) If you find fan blade seized into the abradable strip disengage it carefully.
       1 Disengage carefully the fan blade trailing-edge in normal rotation way (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-20-000-801).
     (b) Visually check the fan blade trailing-edge condition (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-20-210-802).
     (c) Visually check the abradable strip condition in the area of blade seized (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-01-210-801).
     (d) Engage the fan blade trailing-edge after the inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-20-400-801).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the MAT - PROTECTIVE from the lower half of the inlet cowl.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
