B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 72-00-00-010-295-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

A. Removal of the High (N2) Rotor-Turning Equipment
(2) If the PWA115120 KIT, CONTROL and the PWA111443 ROTATOR ADAPTER - ENGINE ASSY, BORESCOPE are not used and the WRENCH - SOCKET is used as an alternative tool, do steps 4.A.(4) thru 4.A.(7).
(3) Remove the PWA115120 KIT, CONTROL and the PWA111443 ROTATOR ADAPTER - ENGINE ASSY, BORESCOPE as follows:
(a) Turn off the power supply to the detail control unit.
(b) Disconnect the detail drive unit cable, detail pedal cable, detail digital pendant cable and AC power cable.
(c) Remove the two detail bolts and the washers from the PWA111443 ROTATOR ADAPTER - ENGINE ASSY, BORESCOPE and the drive motor.
(d) Loosen the two captive bolts and remove the PWA111443 ROTATOR ADAPTER - ENGINE ASSY, BORESCOPE from the gearbox crank pad.
(4) Install the manual crank cover (1) as follows:
(a) Apply the PWA 521 engine oil (Material No.P03-001) on the new EIPC 72-61-01-02-290 PACKING (4).
(b) Install the packing (4) on the crank cover (1).
(c) Apply the MIL-G-21164 grease (Material No.P04-010) on the two bolts (3).
(d) Install the crank cover (1) with the two bolts (3) and the two washers (2).
(e) TORQUE the two bolts (3) to between 95 and 78 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.88 m.daN )

(5) Do a leak check to make sure that the manual crank cover (1) is installed correctly. Refer to test No. 3A (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-720-811).
(6) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
(7) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Removal of the protection covers:CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove the COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.(2) If the PWA115120 KIT, CONTROL and the PWA111443 ROTATOR ADAPTER - ENGINE ASSY, BORESCOPE are not used and the WRENCH - SOCKET is used as an alternative tool, do steps 4.A.(4) thru 4.A.(7).
(3) Remove the PWA115120 KIT, CONTROL and the PWA111443 ROTATOR ADAPTER - ENGINE ASSY, BORESCOPE as follows:
(a) Turn off the power supply to the detail control unit.
(b) Disconnect the detail drive unit cable, detail pedal cable, detail digital pendant cable and AC power cable.
(c) Remove the two detail bolts and the washers from the PWA111443 ROTATOR ADAPTER - ENGINE ASSY, BORESCOPE and the drive motor.
(d) Loosen the two captive bolts and remove the PWA111443 ROTATOR ADAPTER - ENGINE ASSY, BORESCOPE from the gearbox crank pad.
(4) Install the manual crank cover (1) as follows:
(a) Apply the PWA 521 engine oil (Material No.P03-001) on the new EIPC 72-61-01-02-290 PACKING (4).
(b) Install the packing (4) on the crank cover (1).
(c) Apply the MIL-G-21164 grease (Material No.P04-010) on the two bolts (3).
