A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

   (4) Make sure that the upper starter duct is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 80-13-49-000-010).
   (5) Make sure that the anti-ice duct No. 3 is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-012).

E. Install the clips from the removed harness on to the replacement harness. Notes were made of their positions on removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010).

F. Remove the applicable covers, caps, plugs from the electrical connectors and the electrical receptacles.

G. Clean the replacement parts and their interfaces
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with the cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) .
   (2) Use a clean dry lint-free cloth and remove the dirty cleaning fluid from the parts while they are wet.
4. Procedure

A. Installation of the general service harness
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE HARNESS AND ADJACENT PARTS IS CORRECT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Put the general services harness around the LP compressor case in the correct position for installation.
   (2) Connect the general services harness
     (a) Connect these electrical connectors (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010):
       1 The connectors 401VC-A and 409VC-A at the mid pylon interface panel.
       2 The connectors 404VC-A, 405VC-A, 408VC-A and 447VC-A at the forward pylon interface panel.
       3 The connector 4010VC-A at the air intake cowl.
       4 The connector 4100KS-B at the relay box.
       5 The connector 4000DN-A at the anti-ice valve.
       6 The connector 4000XU-C, 4000XU-A and 4000XU-B at the integrated drive generator.
       7 The connector 4011VC-A at the air intake cowl.
       8 The connector 4006EN-A at the No. 4 bearing compartment scavenge valve.
       9 The connector 4005EN-A at the No. 4 bearing scavenge oil pressure.
       10 The connector 4000WD1-A and 4000WD2-A at the accessory zone fire-detectors.
       11 The connector 1030GK-A at the hydraulic pump.
       12 The connector 4000KC-A at the fuel shut-off valve.
       13 The connector 4004EN-A at the engine oil temperature transducer.
       14 The connector 4000EL-A at the fuel filter differential pressure switch.
       15 The connector 4002EN-A at the engine oil quantity transducer.
       16 The connector 4001EN-A at the differential pressure switch for the engine scavenge oil filter.
       17 The connector 1074GK-A at the low hydraulic pressure warning switch.

     (b) Attach the ground connections to the ground points brackets
       1 At the ground point bracket GP3, attach the ground connections to the bracket with the bolts (26) and the washers (25). Attach the connections in the same positions they were removed from (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)

       2 Attach the clip (22) to the bracket (21) with the bolt (24), the washer (23) and the nut (20) in the position noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)

       3 TORQUE the bolts (24) and (26) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)

       4 At the ground point bracket GP4, attach the ground connections to the bracket with the bolts (46) and the washers (45). Attach the connections in the same positions they were removed from (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)

       5 Attach the clip (41) to the bracket (42) with the bolt (44), the washer (43) and the nut (40) in the position noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)

       6 TORQUE the bolts (44) and (46) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)

       7 At the ground point bracket GP2, attach the ground connections to the bracket with the bolts (121) and the washers (120). Attach the connections in the same positions they were removed from (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)

       8 Attach the clip (117) to the bracket (116) with the bolt (119), the washer (118) and the nut (115) in the position noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)

       9 TORQUE the bolts (119) and (121) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)

       10 At the ground point bracket GP1, attach the ground connections to the bracket with the bolts (82) and the washers (83). Attach the connections in the same positions they were removed from (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)

       11 Attach the clip (77) to the bracket (78) with the bolt (81), the washer (80) and the nut (79) in the position noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)

       12 TORQUE the bolts (81) and (82) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)

   (3) Install the general services harness to the bottom of the LP compressor.
Install the nuts, the bolts, the washers and the clips in the positions written during the removal task (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010)
     (a) Put the harness into the clip (4) and (7)

     (b) Attach the clips (1) and (4) to the engine raft with the bolt (2) and (5) and the washer (3) and (6)
(detail A and B).
     (c) Attach the clip (7) to the engine bracket with the bolt (9) and the washer (8)

Install the nuts, the bolts, the washers and the clips in the position written during the removal task (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010).

     (b) Attach the clip (3) and (15) to the tubes with the bolts (2) and (14), the washers (1) and (17) and the nuts (4) and (16)

     (d) Put the spacers (9) and (13) between the tube and the EEC Harness clip. Attach the clip (12), the EEC Harness clip, the spacers (9) and (13) and the tube to the engine bracket with the bolt (11) and the washer (10)

     (e) Put the harness into the clips (31), (33), (35) and (39)

     (k) Put the spacer (63) between the clip (62) and the engine bracket. Attach the clip (62) to the engine bracket with the bolt (60), the washer (61) and the nut (64)

   (5) Install the general services harness to the right side of the LP compressor.
Install the nuts, the bolts, the washers, the clips, the screws, the bracket and the cover in the positions written during the removal task (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-43-000-010).

NOTE: There are seven cables in total, two come from the EEC and ignition supply harness.

       1 Put the five cables through the female backshell half (79), through the ground ferrule and through the male backshell half (79) and through-hole of the terminal module assembly.
       2 Use the M81968-14-02 INSERT/EXTRACTION TOOL to install the cables on the terminals as follows: cable 8P055 to terminal A, cable 8P023 to terminal B and cable 8P032 to terminal C on TM817, and cable 8P082 to terminal A and cable 8P024 to terminal B on TM824, as tagged on removal. Remove the temporary tags from the five cables.
       3 Put the screen tails equally around the ground ferrule, align the screen tails of the five cables with the screen tails of the two cables (from the EEC and ignition supply harness).
       4 Push the ground ferrule along the cables to hold the screen tails against the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80).
       5 Bend the screen tails over the ground ferrule and along the cables.
       6 Use lacing tape (Material No.V02-159) to safety the screen tails to the harness immediately behind the ground ferrule.
NOTE: Make sure that you trim any screen tails that overlap the ground ferrule when it is installed in the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80).
       7 Install the female backshell half (79) onto the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80).
       8 Use a PENCIL - SHARP to make a small mark on the cables to show the position of the cable clamp.
       9 Wind lacing tape (Material No.V02-159) around the cables at the position marked with the PENCIL - SHARP, to hold them in the correct position.
       10 Apply locking compound.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCKING COMPOUND IS APPLIED ONLY TO THE THREADS.
         a Apply two drops of the locking compound (Material No.V08-026) opposite each other, on the threads of the male backshell half (79).
       11 Install the female backshell half (79) onto the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80). TORQUE the female backshell half (79) to between 11 and 9 lbf.in (0.12 and 0.10 m.daN ) T.
       12 Wind the V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) around the cables at the clamp position, so that the clamp will hold the harness tightly.
NOTE: Make sure that the cables have enough bend radii to prevent a sharp angle at the attachment to the terminal modules TM817 and TM824.
       13 Apply one drop of the locking compound (Material No.
V08-026) onto the threads of the screws (81) and (82).
       14 Attach the cable clamp with the two screws (81) and (82).
       15 TORQUE the screws (81) and (82) to between 20 and 10 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.11 m.daN ) T.
     (s) Put the cover (76) on the terminal module assembly (80) in the correct position for installation. Attach the cover (76) to the terminal module assembly (80) with the screws (77) and (78) and the washer (91). TORQUE the screws (77) and (78) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )

     (t) Put the harness into the clip (73), (83), (87) and (90) (details A and N).
     (u) Attach the clips (73) and (83) to the engine bracket with the bolt (74) and washer (75) (detail A).
     (v) Put the spacer (86) between the clip (87) and the bracket. Attach the clip (87) and the spacer (86) to the engine bracket with the bolt (85) and the washer (84)
(detail N).

Remove the temporary tags from the cables.
       3 Apply adhesive tape.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ADHESIVE TAPE IS APPLIED AT THE THROUGH-HOLE OF THE TERMINAL MODULE ASSEMBLY BRACKET TO PREVENT CHAFING.
         a Install three layers of V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) along the length of the cables, from the terminal junctions of modules, TM81714/3-D-A1 and TM81714/3-D-B1, for a distance of approximately 6 in. (152.40 mm).
NOTE: The cables can be moved in the forward and aft direction to make sure that V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) is installed easily at the male backshell half (79) through-hole of the terminal module assembly (80). The adhesive tape can be split at this point, but there must not be gaps in the protective layers.
       4 Put the screen tails equally around the ground ferrule, align the screen tails of the five cables with the two screen tails of the cables installed in the terminal module assembly (from the EEC and ignition supply harness).
       5 Push the ground ferrule along the cables to hold the screen tails against the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80).
       6 Bend the screen tails over the ground ferrule and along the cables.
       7 Attach lacing tape (Material No.V02-159) to safety the screen tails to the harness immediately behind the ground ferrule.
NOTE: Make sure that you trim any screen tails that overlap the ground ferrule when it is installed in the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80).
       8 Install the female backshell half (79) on the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80).
       9 Use a PENCIL - SHARP to make a small mark on the cables to show the position of the cable clamp.
       10 Remove the female backshell half (79) from the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80).
       11 Wind sufficient V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) around the cables, at the position marked with the PENCIL - SHARP, so that the cable clamp will hold the cables tightly.
       12 Apply locking compound.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCKING COMPOUND IS APPLIED ONLY TO THE THREADS.
         a Apply two drops of the locking compound (Material No.V08-026) opposite each other on the threads of the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80).
       13 Install the female backshell half (79) onto the male backshell half (79) of the terminal module assembly (80). TORQUE the female backshell half (79) to between 11 and 9 lbf.in (0.12 and 0.10 m.daN ) T.
NOTE: Make sure that the cables have enough bend radii to prevent a sharp angle at the attachment to the terminal modules, TM81714/3-D-A1 and TM81714/3-D-B1.
       14 Apply one drop of the locking compound (Material No.
V08-026) on the threads of the screws (81) and (82).
       15 Install the screws and the cable clamp to the female backshell half (79).
       16 TORQUE the screws (81) and (82) to between 20 and 10 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.11 m.daN ) T.
     (s) Put the cover (76) on the terminal module assembly (80) in the correct position for installation. Attach the cover (76) to the terminal module assembly (80) with the screws (77) and (78) and the washer (91)

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       1 Apply lockwire to the two screws (81) and (82) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
     (p) Put the cover (76) on the terminal module assembly (80) in the correct position for installation. Attach the cover (76) to the terminal module assembly (80) with the screws (77) and (78) and the washer (91). TORQUE the screws (77) and (78) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T.
