BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 30-21-49-010-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the engine.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the engine.

B. Removal of the Anti-ice Duct No. 3
(1) Remove the couplings (2) and (3) from the duct (1).
PRE SBE 80-0022
(2) Remove the nut (17), the bolt (14), the bush (15) and the washer (16) which attach the bearing link assembly to the duct (1).
END OF PRE SBE 80-0022
POST SBE 80-0022
(3) Remove the nut (17), the bolt (14), the bush (15) and the washer (16) which attach the turnbuckle link assembly to the duct (1).

(4) Remove the duct (1) and discard the seal (4).
(5) Put the applicable COVER - BLANKING on all the openings.
(1) Remove the couplings (2) and (3) from the duct (1).
PRE SBE 80-0022

(3) Remove the nut (17), the bolt (14), the bush (15) and the washer (16) which attach the turnbuckle link assembly to the duct (1).

(5) Put the applicable COVER - BLANKING on all the openings.
