A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
   (4) Make sure that the anti-ice duct No. 3 (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-012) is removed.
   (5) Make sure that the starter duct (Ref. AMM TASK 80-13-49-000-010) is removed.

     (g) The connectors 4000KS-J7 and 4000KS-J1 at the EEC.
     (h) The connectors 4000VC-A, 4001VC-A, 4002VC-A and 4003VC-A at their related plugbreaks.

C. Connect and torque the electrical connectors as follows:
F EEC and Ignition Supply Harness ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Connect the electrical connectors 4000KS-J1 and 4000KS-J7 to the EEC. TORQUE the connectors to between 35.2 and 28.8 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.33 m.daN ) T with the IAE1R19416 WRENCH-SPECIAL 4 AND 8 SLOT CONNECTOR, LIFTING.
   (2) Connect the electrical connector 4000VC-A to the harness receptacle 4000VC, and align the master keyway. TORQUE the connector to between 50.6 and 41.4 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.47 m.daN ) T.
   (3) Connect the electrical connector 4001VC-A to the harness receptacle 4001VC, and align the master keyway. TORQUE the connector to between 50.6 and 41.4 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.47 m.daN )

   (4) Connect the electrical connectors 4002VC-A and 4003VC-A to the harness receptacles 4002VC and 4003VC, and align the master keyways. TORQUE the connector to between 15.4 and 12.6 lbf.in (0.17 and 0.14 m.daN )

D. Install the two cables on the terminal modules TM817 and TM824.
NOTE: There are seven cables in total. Five come from the General Services Harness.

PRE SBE 73-0137

   (1) Put the two cables through the female backshell half (150), through the ground ferrule and through the male backshell half (150) through-hole of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (2) Use the M81969-14-03 INSERTION EXTRACTION TOOL to install cable 8T033 into terminal C on the terminal module TM824 and cable 8T077 into terminal E on the terminal module TM817, as tagged on removal. Remove the temporary tags from the cables.
   (3) Put the screen tails equally around the ground ferrule, and align the screen tails of the two cables with the screen tails of the five cables (from the General Services Harness).
   (4) Push the ground ferrule along the cables to hold the screen tails against the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (5) Bend the screen tails over the ground ferrule and along the cables.
   (6) Use lacing tape (Material No.V02-159) to safety the screen tails to the harness immediately behind the ground ferrule.
NOTE: Make sure that you trim any screen tails that overlap the ground ferrule when it is installed in the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (7) Install the female backshell half (150) onto the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (8) Use a PENCIL - SHARP to make a small mark on the cables to show the position of the cable clamp.
   (9) Remove the female backshell half (150).
   (10) Wind lacing tape (Material No.V02-159) around the cables, at the position marked with the PENCIL - SHARP, to hold them in the correct position.
   (11) Apply the locking compound.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCKING COMPOUND IS APPLIED ONLY TO THE THREADS.
     (a) Apply two drops of the locking compound (Material No.V08-026) opposite each other, on the threads of the male backshell half (150).
   (12) Install the female backshell half (150) onto the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151). TORQUE the female backshell half (150) to between 11 and 9 lbf.in (0.12 and 0.10 m.daN ) T.
   (13) Wind the V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) around the cables at the clamp position so that the clamp will hold the harness tightly.
NOTE: Make sure that the cables have enough bend radii to prevent a sharp angle at the attachment to the terminal modules TM817 and TM824.
   (14) Apply one drop of locking compound (Material No.
V08-026) onto the threads of the two screws (152) and (153).
   (15) Attach the cable clamp with the two screws (152) and (153).
   (16) TORQUE the two screws (152) and (153) to between 20 and 10 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.11 m.daN ) T.
   (17) Put the cover (147) on the terminal module assembly (151) and attach the cover with the screws (148) and (149) and washer (155).
   (18) TORQUE the screws (148) and (149) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )

   (1) Put the two cables through the female backshell (150) half, through the ground ferrule and through the male backshell half (150) through-hole of the terminal module assembly (151).

   (12) Install the female backshell half (150) onto the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151). TORQUE the female backshell half (150) to between 11 and 9 lbf.in (0.12 and 0.10 m.daN ) T.
   (13) Wind the V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) around the cables at the clamp position, so that the clamp will hold the harness tightly.
NOTE: Make sure that the cables have enough bend radii to prevent a sharp angle at the attachment to the terminal modules TM81714/3-D-A1 and TM81714/3-D-B1.
   (14) Apply one drop of locking compound (Material No.
V08-026) to the threads of the two screws (152) and (153).
   (15) Attach the cable clamp with the two screws (152) and (153).
   (16) TORQUE the two screws (152) and (153) to between 20 and 10 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.11 m.daN ) T.
   (17) Put the cover (147) on the terminal module assembly (151) and attach the cover with the screws (148) and (149) and the washer (155).
   (18) TORQUE the two screws (148) and (149) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )

F. Install the two cables on the Terminal modules TM81714/3-D-A1 and TM81714/3-D-B1.
NOTE: There are seven cables in total. Five come from the General Services Harness.

SBE 71-0275: Engine - Engine Build Unit (EBU) - terminal module assembly - re-routing of the harness.
   (1) Put the two cables through the female backshell half (150), through the ground ferrule and through the male backshell half (150) through-hole of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (2) Use the M81969-14-03 INSERTION EXTRACTION TOOL to install cable 8T033 into terminal C on the terminal module TM81714/3-D-B1 and cable 8T077 into terminal E on the terminal module TM81714/3-D-A1 as tagged on removal. Remove the temporary tags from the cables.
   (3) Install adhesive tape.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ADHESIVE TAPE IS APPLIED AT THE THROUGH-HOLE OF THE TERMINAL MODULE ASSEMBLY BRACKET TO PREVENT CHAFING.
     (a) Install three layers of V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) along the length of the cables, from the terminal junctions of modules, TM81714/3-D-A1 and TM81714/3-D-B1, for a distance of approximately 6.0 in. (152 mm).
NOTE: The cables can be moved in the forward and aft direction to make sure that V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) is installed easily at the male backshell half (150) through-hole in the terminal module assembly bracket (151). The adhesive tape can be split at this point, but there must not be any gaps in the protective layers.
   (4) Put the screen tails equally around the ground ferrule, and align the screen tails of the two cables with the five screen tails of the cables installed in the terminal module assembly (from the General Services Harness).
   (5) Push the ground ferrule along the cables to hold the screen tails against the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (6) Bend the screen tails over the ground ferrule and along the cables.
   (7) Use lacing tape (Material No.V02-159) to safety the screen tails to the harness immediately behind the ground ferrule.
NOTE: Make sure that you trim any screen tails that overlap the ground ferrule when it is installed in the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (8) Install the female backshell half (150) onto the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (9) Use a PENCIL - SHARP to make a small mark on the cables to show the position of the cable clamp.
   (10) Remove the female backshell half (150) from the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (11) Wind V02-148adhesive tape (electrical) around the cables at the clamp position marked with the PENCIL - SHARP, so that the clamp will hold the harness tightly.
   (12) Apply locking compound.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCKING COMPOUND IS APPLIED ONLY TO THE THREADS.
     (a) Apply two drops of locking compound (Material No.V08-026) opposite each other on the threads of the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151).
   (13) Install the female backshell half (150) onto the male backshell half (150) of the terminal module assembly (151). TORQUE the female backshell half (150) to between 11 and 9 lbf.in (0.12 and 0.10 m.daN ) T.
NOTE: Make sure that the cables have enough bend radii to prevent a sharp angle at the attachment to the terminal modules, TM81714/3-D-A1 and TM8714/3-D-B1.
   (14) Apply one drop of locking compound (Material No.
V08-026) to the threads of the two screws (152) and (153).
   (15) Attach the cable clamp with the two screws (152) and (153).
   (16) TORQUE the two screws (152) and (153) to between 20 and 10 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.11 m.daN ) T.
   (17) Apply lockwire.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Apply lockwire (Material No.
V02-147) to the two screws (152) and (153) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
   (18) Put the cover (147) on the terminal module assembly (151) and attach the cover with the screws (148) and (149) and the washer (155).
   (19) TORQUE the two screws (148) and (149) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T.

G. Attach the harness to the front of the LP compressor/intermediate case

   (1) Install the spacer (4) in the position noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-42-000-010). Attach the clip (3) and the spacer (4) to the engine with the bolt (1) and the washer (2) at position A.

   (2) Attach the clip (5) to the engine with the bolt (6) and the washer (7) at position B.

   (4) Install the spacer (12) in the position noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-42-000-010). Attach the clip (15) and the spacer (12) to the engine with the bolt (14), the washer (13) and the nut (16) at position D.

   (5) Install the spacer (39) in the position noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-42-000-010). Attach the clip (28) and the spacer (39) to the engine with the bolt (27) and the washer (26) at position E (make sure that the general services harness clip at position E is also attached to the engine).

   (6) Attach the clips (30), (31), (34) and (37) to the engine with the bolts (29), (33) and (36) and the washers (32), (35) and (38) at positions F, G and H.

   (7) Install the spacers (51) and (55) in the positions noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-42-000-010). Attach the clips (50) and (54) and the spacers (51) and (55) to the engine with the bolts (49) and (53) and the washers (52) and (56) at positions J and K.

   (8) Install the spacers (57) and (61) in the positions noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-42-000-010). Attach the clip (58) and the spacers (57) and (61) to the engine with the bolt (60), the washer (59) and the nut (62) at position L (make sure that the general services harness clip at position L is also attached to the engine).

   (9) Install the spacers (73), (74) and (77) in the positions noted during removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-42-000-010).
