SPECIAL DETAILED INSPECTION (ENDOSCOPE) OF AFT ENGINE MOUNT LINK LUGS
This inspection criteria is only for those parts of the engine that you can see when the engine is installed on an airplane. The limits and remarks are not applicable to the areas of the mount that you cannot see when the engine is installed.

Subtask 71-22-12-941-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE THE THRUST REVERSER UNSERVICEABLE. IF THE THRUST REVERSER IS NOT MADE UNSERVICEABLE, IT CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY BECAUSE THE BLOCKER DOOR HOLD-OPEN ROD DOES NOT RESIST THE ACTUATOR HYDRAULIC PRESSURE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

D. Open the thrust reverser doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040)
   (1) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-22-12-210-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Special Detail Inspection of the Aft Engine Mount Lugs
   (1) Do a special detail inspection of the aft engine mount lugs. Clean any dirt or unwanted material from the lugs with a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . Use a FLASHLIGHT, MIRROR - INSPECTION and BORESCOPE - FLEXIBLE dia. up to 5 mm (0.1969 in.) to examine areas lugs are hard to see.
   (2) Do this inspection on those areas of the aft engine mount that are visible without the removal of any hardware.

REMARKS
1.Examine the three beam assembly lugs, look for:
F Aft Engine Mount Beam ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL


A.Cracks.
None permitted.
If cracks are found replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-040).
NOTE: Discard the damaged part and inspect the mount assembly as per CMM 712207 (inspection/check procedure).
2.Examine the three link assemblies, look for:
F Aft Engine Mount Link ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL


A.Cracks.
None permitted.
If cracks are found replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-040).
NOTE: Discard the damaged part and inspect the mount assembly as per CMM 712207 (inspection/check procedure).
NOTE: For all other findings (nick, scratch, gouge,...) please refer to CMM 712207 (inspection/check procedure).
5. Close-up

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Close the thrust reverser doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-040).
