A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE and the MAT - WORK are in position.

   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-21-11-420-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the Front Engine Mount Tube and the Mount Tube Outer Race Assembly
   (1) Put the IAE1J12127 HEATER LOCAL into the bearing bore and attach it on to the No. 1 strut pad. Attach the heater to one of the eight studs on the pad with the clip of the heater.
   (2) Connect the IAE6F10027 HEATER CONTROL UNIT to the local heater.
   (3) Increase the temperature to approximately 212 deg. F (100 deg. C).
   (4) Freeze the mount tube outer race assembly with dry ice for 30 minutes.
     (a) Do this step (4) while doing the step (3).
   (5) Installation of the mount tube
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT SURFACE OF THE LOCAL HEATER.
CAUTION: HOLD THE TWO HALVES OF THE OUTER RACE ASSEMBLY BY HAND TO KEEP THEM IN POSITION DURING THEIR INSTALLATION.
     (a) Remove the heater and install the mount tube and mount tube outer race assembly (2) into the bore as quickly as possible. Make sure that the TOP mark on the mount tube is put at the highest position on the mount tube.
   (6) Attach the front engine mount tube and the mount tube outer race assembly to the No. 1 strut pad with the eight nuts (1).
   (7) TORQUE the nuts to between 370 and 290 lbf.in (4.18 and 3.28 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).

B. Install the forward engine mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-21-12-400-011).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the workmat from the intake cowl.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
