A. Safety Precautions

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-13-11-110-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Clean the fan cowl door-latches and the adjacent structure.
(1) Clean the fan cowl latches, the attachment hardware and the adjacent structure with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) andPU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl .
(2) Remove thePU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl becomes dry.
Subtask 71-13-11-220-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the fan cowl latches, the attachment hardware and the adjacent structure with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and

B. Visually examine the fan cowl door latches.
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact Collins Aerospace for disposition.
(2) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the fan cowl door latches. Look for cracks, gouges, corrosion and broken parts. If you find damage, replace the latch or contact Collins Aerospace for disposition (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(3) Examine the attachment hardware as follows:
(a) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the bolts, washers and nuts on the latches. Look for loose, missing or damaged parts. If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(b) Make sure that the bolts, washers and nuts are correctly attached. Tighten or replace the part as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(4) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the structure adjacent to the latches. Look for dents, cracks, gouges, corrosion or wear.
(a) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact Collins Aerospace Systems for disposition.
(5) If the baulk bracket is there, examine the baulk bracket assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-210-801).
5. Close-up(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact Collins Aerospace for disposition.
(2) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the fan cowl door latches. Look for cracks, gouges, corrosion and broken parts. If you find damage, replace the latch or contact Collins Aerospace for disposition (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(3) Examine the attachment hardware as follows:
(a) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the bolts, washers and nuts on the latches. Look for loose, missing or damaged parts. If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(b) Make sure that the bolts, washers and nuts are correctly attached. Tighten or replace the part as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(4) Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X and examine the structure adjacent to the latches. Look for dents, cracks, gouges, corrosion or wear.
(a) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact Collins Aerospace Systems for disposition.
(5) If the baulk bracket is there, examine the baulk bracket assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-210-801).

(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
