B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-13-11-210-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Do a General Visual Inspection (GVI) of the fan cowl door latches and Surrounding Structure (150 mm around Latch fittings)
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact Collins Aerospace for disposition.
(2) Examine the latches. Look for cracks, gouges, corrosion and other damage. If you find damage, replace the latch or contact Collins Aerospace for disposition (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(3) Examine the bolts, washers and nuts on the latches. Look for cracks, gouges, too much wear, corrosion, correct assembly and other damage. If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(4) Examine the latch housings and 5.9 in. (150 mm) of the adjacent structure from the latches. Look for dents, cracks, gouges, corrosion, wear, loose or missing fasteners and other damage. If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact Collins Aerospace for disposition.
(5) If the baulk bracket is there, examine the baulk bracket assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-210-801).
5. Close-up(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact Collins Aerospace for disposition.
(2) Examine the latches. Look for cracks, gouges, corrosion and other damage. If you find damage, replace the latch or contact Collins Aerospace for disposition (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
(3) Examine the bolts, washers and nuts on the latches. Look for cracks, gouges, too much wear, corrosion, correct assembly and other damage. If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-805) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-805).
