3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-13-00-941-094-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
   (3) Get access to latch detection assembly inside the left fan cowl door.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-13-00-440-052-A
A. Activation of the Flag (Installation of the fan Cowl door, (LHS)
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SLATS ARE RETRACTED AND INHIBITED. MOVEMENT OF THE SLATS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Closing of the Flag.
     (a) At the keeper housing No 1, turn the lever (1) to put the keeper (2) in position fan cowl door closed.
   (2) Activation of the flag.
     (a) Remove the safety pin from the pin.
     (b) Remove the pin from the hole flag position unserviceable.
     (c) Install the pin and the safety pin in its storage point.
   (3) Opening of the Flag.
     (a) At the keeper housing No 1, turn the lever (1) to put the keeper (2) in position fan cowl door open.
NOTE: The flag is in position open.

B. Check and Adjustment of the Push Pull Cable
   (1) After system installation, the following checks must be done:
  • The system works properly when you pull the keeper
  • With the keeper in closed position the flag must remain flush with the fan cowl skin
  • With the system in open position ensure that the flag is completely open.
NOTE: If any of these checks results is not correct, a rigging procedure of the system must be done (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-41-820-802).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
