Subtask 71-00-00-840-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Drain AGB (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-004).
(b) Disconnect J10 electrical wiring harness connector from control alternator.
(c) Remove ignition cables from clips located on RH side of TGB and from the two adjacent clip sets on fan frame.
(d) Remove bolt securing TGB RH forward bracket to forward upper RH corner of TGB housing.
(e) Disconnect TGB scavenge tube from AGB housing and retain gasket.
(f) Remove bolt and nut securing TGB oil supply tube and rear sump scavenge tube to bracket located on LH side of AGB/TGB connection.
(g) Disconnect rear sump scavenge oil tube from AGB housing and retain gasket.
(2) Remove handcranking drive cover (Ref. AMM TASK 72-63-00-000-004).
(3) Remove handcranking drive nut as follows:
(a) Install 856A2718 TOOL SET,R/I-DRIVE SHAFTS (856A2718G03) as follows:
1 Position wrench guide on AGB housing and secure using the two bolts provided.
2 Turn wrench axle to engage forward square end of axle into handcranking drive.
(b) Loosen nut using axle for countertorque.
(c) Remove tool and nut from AGB housing.
(4) Remove handcranking drive.
(a) Screw puller, (856A2632G01), into tapped hole of handcranking drive.
(b) Screw a slide hammer assy into the puller.
(c) Extract handcranking drive using slide hammer assy.
(d) Remove slide hammer assy from puller.
(e) Remove puller from handcranking drive.
(f) Remove and discard O-ring (20) from handcranking drive.
(5) Back-off of the horizontal drive shaft
(a) Use the puller part of tool, (856A2718G03), as follows:
1 Introduce guide pins of puller into the internal splines of the gearshaft.
2 Handtighten the tool screw into the shaft.
(b) Screw a slide hammer assy into the puller.
(c) Back off the horizontal drive shaft.
(d) Remove slide hammer assy and puller from the shaft.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

Subtask 71-00-00-840-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
A. Preparation for Installation of Sealing System - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
NOTE: Place a CONTAINER - POLYTHENE, APPLICABLE CAPACITY under the TGB to catch residual fluid draining from tubes and control.
(1) Preparation of AGB (a) Drain AGB (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-004).
(b) Disconnect J10 electrical wiring harness connector from control alternator.
(c) Remove ignition cables from clips located on RH side of TGB and from the two adjacent clip sets on fan frame.
(d) Remove bolt securing TGB RH forward bracket to forward upper RH corner of TGB housing.
(e) Disconnect TGB scavenge tube from AGB housing and retain gasket.
(f) Remove bolt and nut securing TGB oil supply tube and rear sump scavenge tube to bracket located on LH side of AGB/TGB connection.
(g) Disconnect rear sump scavenge oil tube from AGB housing and retain gasket.
(2) Remove handcranking drive cover (Ref. AMM TASK 72-63-00-000-004).
(3) Remove handcranking drive nut as follows:
(a) Install 856A2718 TOOL SET,R/I-DRIVE SHAFTS (856A2718G03) as follows:
1 Position wrench guide on AGB housing and secure using the two bolts provided.
2 Turn wrench axle to engage forward square end of axle into handcranking drive.
(b) Loosen nut using axle for countertorque.
(c) Remove tool and nut from AGB housing.
(4) Remove handcranking drive.
(a) Screw puller, (856A2632G01), into tapped hole of handcranking drive.
(b) Screw a slide hammer assy into the puller.
(c) Extract handcranking drive using slide hammer assy.
(d) Remove slide hammer assy from puller.
(e) Remove puller from handcranking drive.
(f) Remove and discard O-ring (20) from handcranking drive.
(5) Back-off of the horizontal drive shaft
(a) Use the puller part of tool, (856A2718G03), as follows:
1 Introduce guide pins of puller into the internal splines of the gearshaft.
2 Handtighten the tool screw into the shaft.
(b) Screw a slide hammer assy into the puller.
(c) Back off the horizontal drive shaft.
(d) Remove slide hammer assy and puller from the shaft.
B. Installation of 856A2707 TOOL SET,LEAK TEST-AGB (856A2707G01)
(1) Disconnect TGB oil supply tube from nipple on TGB.
(2) Seal TGB oil supply tube using tube cap detail of leak test tool set.
(3) Install AGB/TGB coupling tube blanking plate as follows:
(a) Lightly coat O-ring with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install in groove of blanking plate detail of tool.
(b) Remove nuts and washers securing AGB to TGB and retain lower bracket.
(c) Carefully remove the bolts while holding the AGB.
(d) Slightly pull AGB forward and remove gasket seal.
(e) Install tool blanking plate, O-ring located AGB side (forward), between AGB and TGB section B.
(g) Tighten pins to center AGB and TGB.
(h) Install bolt head forward in 6.30 o'clock position and secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(i) Remove one centering pin and install a bolt, head forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(j) Remove remaining centering pin and install a bolt, head forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(k) Install remaining bolts, heads forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with corresponding washers and nuts.
(l) TORQUE all nuts to between 280 and 250 lbf.in (3.16 and 2.83 m.daN )
.
(4) Install pressurization assy of tool set 856A2707G01, as follows section AA:
(a) Lightly coat O-ring with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install in groove of handcranking support.
(b) Lightly coat threads of bolts with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(c) Install pressurization assy in handcranking location on front face of AGB.
(d) Secure with bolts provided.
(5) Remove blanking plugs from drain tubes of set and install drain tubes on following drain nipples:
(a) Starter drain.
(b) IDG drain.
(c) Front hydraulic pump drain.
(d) Fuel pump drain.
(6) Connect the pressurization hose assembly, complete with connection and gauge, to the handcranking pressurization assy
section AR.
Subtask 71-00-00-790-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect TGB oil supply tube from nipple on TGB.
(2) Seal TGB oil supply tube using tube cap detail of leak test tool set.
(3) Install AGB/TGB coupling tube blanking plate as follows:
(a) Lightly coat O-ring with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install in groove of blanking plate detail of tool.
(b) Remove nuts and washers securing AGB to TGB and retain lower bracket.
(c) Carefully remove the bolts while holding the AGB.
(d) Slightly pull AGB forward and remove gasket seal.
(e) Install tool blanking plate, O-ring located AGB side (forward), between AGB and TGB section B.
NOTE: Offset hole is located at 4.30 o'clock, aft looking forward.
(f) Install two centering pins of tool in holes located at 10.30 and 2.30 o'clock. (g) Tighten pins to center AGB and TGB.
(h) Install bolt head forward in 6.30 o'clock position and secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(i) Remove one centering pin and install a bolt, head forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(j) Remove remaining centering pin and install a bolt, head forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(k) Install remaining bolts, heads forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with corresponding washers and nuts.
(l) TORQUE all nuts to between 280 and 250 lbf.in (3.16 and 2.83 m.daN )
. (4) Install pressurization assy of tool set 856A2707G01, as follows section AA:
(a) Lightly coat O-ring with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install in groove of handcranking support.
(b) Lightly coat threads of bolts with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(c) Install pressurization assy in handcranking location on front face of AGB.
(d) Secure with bolts provided.
(5) Remove blanking plugs from drain tubes of set and install drain tubes on following drain nipples:
(a) Starter drain.
(b) IDG drain.
(c) Front hydraulic pump drain.
(d) Fuel pump drain.
(6) Connect the pressurization hose assembly, complete with connection and gauge, to the handcranking pressurization assy
section AR.
C. Perform Leak Test as follows:
(2) Test Requirements
(a) Water content: Dew point 40 deg.C (104 deg.F) at ambient pressure.
(b) Temperature: Ambient.
(c) Air filtration: Residual oil lower than 40 mg per kg of air.
(d) Pressure range: Between 10 psi (0.7 bar) and 12 psi (0.8 bar).
(3) Pressurize the accessory drive and place flexible hoses in a bucket of water and check there are no bubbles in water.
(a) Remove and replace any leaking carbon seal or its mating ring.
(b) Repeat pressure test after replacement of leaking seal.
(4) Disconnect flexible hose of cart, 856A1115 CART,NITROGEN-FUEL MANIFOLD PRESSURE CHECK (856A1115G07 or 856A1115G08), from hose of set, 856A2707 TOOL SET,LEAK TEST-AGB (856A2707G01).
Subtask 71-00-00-080-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT USE OXYGEN BOTTLE AS A PRESSURE SOURCE AS IT COULD CREATE AN EXPLOSIVE HAZARD. USE ONLY A PNEUMATIC SOURCE OR NITROGEN QUALITY R.
(1) Connect flexible hose assy from handcranking support of tool set 856A2707 TOOL SET,LEAK TEST-AGB (856A2707G01) to flexible hose of fuel manifold press check 856A1115 CART,NITROGEN-FUEL MANIFOLD PRESSURE CHECK (856A1115G07 or 856A1115G08). (2) Test Requirements
(a) Water content: Dew point 40 deg.C (104 deg.F) at ambient pressure.
(b) Temperature: Ambient.
(c) Air filtration: Residual oil lower than 40 mg per kg of air.
(d) Pressure range: Between 10 psi (0.7 bar) and 12 psi (0.8 bar).
(3) Pressurize the accessory drive and place flexible hoses in a bucket of water and check there are no bubbles in water.
(a) Remove and replace any leaking carbon seal or its mating ring.
(b) Repeat pressure test after replacement of leaking seal.
(4) Disconnect flexible hose of cart, 856A1115 CART,NITROGEN-FUEL MANIFOLD PRESSURE CHECK (856A1115G07 or 856A1115G08), from hose of set, 856A2707 TOOL SET,LEAK TEST-AGB (856A2707G01).
D. Remove AGB Leak Test Tool Set, 856A2707 TOOL SET,LEAK TEST-AGB (856A2707G01) as follows:
(1) Disconnect hose assembly from handcranking support of tool. Remove handcranking support from AGB.
(2) Disconnect drain tubes from the drain nipples on AGB.
(3) Remove AGB/TGB coupling tube blanking plate as follows:
(a) Lightly coat a serviceable gasket with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(b) Remove nuts and washers securing AGB to TGB.
(c) Carefully remove the bolts while holding the AGB.
(d) Slightly pull AGB forward and remove blanking plate.
(e) Install gasket seal between AGB and TGB.
(g) Tighten pins to center AGB and TGB.
(h) Install lower bracket with bolt, head forward in 6.30 o'clock position and secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(j) Remove remaining centering pin and install a bolt, head forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(k) Install remaining bolts, heads forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with corresponding washers and nuts.
(l) TORQUE all nuts to between 280 and 250 lbf.in (3.16 and 2.83 m.daN )
.
(4) Remove sealing cap from TGB oil supply tube and reconnect tube to TGB nipple, handtighten.
Subtask 71-00-00-410-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect hose assembly from handcranking support of tool. Remove handcranking support from AGB.
(2) Disconnect drain tubes from the drain nipples on AGB.
(3) Remove AGB/TGB coupling tube blanking plate as follows:
(a) Lightly coat a serviceable gasket with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(b) Remove nuts and washers securing AGB to TGB.
(c) Carefully remove the bolts while holding the AGB.
(d) Slightly pull AGB forward and remove blanking plate.
(e) Install gasket seal between AGB and TGB.
NOTE: Offset hole is located at 4.30 o'clock, aft looking forward.
(f) Install two centering pins of tool in holes located at 10.30 and 2.30 o'clock. (g) Tighten pins to center AGB and TGB.
(h) Install lower bracket with bolt, head forward in 6.30 o'clock position and secure with handtightened washer and nut.
NOTE: Reinstall brackets at their proper location when reconnecting AGB to TGB.
(i) Remove one centering pin and install a bolt, head forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with handtightened washer and nut. (j) Remove remaining centering pin and install a bolt, head forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with handtightened washer and nut.
(k) Install remaining bolts, heads forward, threads lightly coated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Secure with corresponding washers and nuts.
(l) TORQUE all nuts to between 280 and 250 lbf.in (3.16 and 2.83 m.daN )
. (4) Remove sealing cap from TGB oil supply tube and reconnect tube to TGB nipple, handtighten.
E. Reconnection of Parts Removed for Access
(2) TORQUE bolts to between 50 and 45 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.51 m.daN )
.
(3) Install gasket between TGB scavenge oil tube and AGB housing. Secure tube with bolts.
(4) TORQUE bolts to between 50 and 45 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.51 m.daN )
.
(5) Reinstall bolt and nut securing rear sump scavenge and TGB supply oil tube clamps to bracket on LH side of AGB/TGB connection. Handtighten nut.
(6) TORQUE TGB oil supply tube coupling nut to TGB nipple to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
.
(7) TORQUE nut securing clamps to LH bracket to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN )
.
(8) Reinstall bolt securing TGB RH forward bracket to TGB housing. TORQUE bolt to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN )
.
(9) Reinstall ignition cables in their clips.
Subtask 71-00-00-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: Gasket previously used should be examined for defects before reuse.
NOTE: Lightly coat gasket seals with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
NOTE: Lightly coat threads of bolts with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(1) Install gasket between rear sump scavenge oil tube and AGB housing. Secure tube with bolts. (2) TORQUE bolts to between 50 and 45 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.51 m.daN )
. (3) Install gasket between TGB scavenge oil tube and AGB housing. Secure tube with bolts.
(4) TORQUE bolts to between 50 and 45 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.51 m.daN )
. (5) Reinstall bolt and nut securing rear sump scavenge and TGB supply oil tube clamps to bracket on LH side of AGB/TGB connection. Handtighten nut.
(6) TORQUE TGB oil supply tube coupling nut to TGB nipple to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
. (7) TORQUE nut securing clamps to LH bracket to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN )
. (8) Reinstall bolt securing TGB RH forward bracket to TGB housing. TORQUE bolt to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN )
. (9) Reinstall ignition cables in their clips.
F. Reinstallation of Handcranking Drive Assy
(1) Positioning of Horizontal Drive Shaft
(a) Screw the puller part of tool, 856A2718 TOOL SET,R/I-DRIVE SHAFTS (856A2718G03) into the horizontal drive shaft.
(b) Push the puller and turn it to engage the drive shaft splines into the internal gearshaft splines.
(c) Push the horizontal drive shaft up to extreme position.
(d) Remove the puller from the horizontal drive shaft.
(2) Installation of Handcranking Drive
(a) Lightly coat new AIPC 72-63-00-04-010 O-RING (20) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install in groove of handcranking drive.
(b) Lightly coat the handcranking drive splines with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and check for cleanliness of mating faces.
(c) Screw the puller, 856A2632 PULLER (856A2632G01), into the handcranking drive.
(d) Install the handcranking drive by pushing the puller and turning it to engage handcranking drive into the internal gearshaft splines and pushing again up to contact with horizontal drive shaft.
(e) Remove the puller from handcranking drive.
(3) Installation of Nut
(a) Ensure retaining spring is installed in groove of nut.
(b) Lightly coat external threads of nut with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(c) Engage the nut on the wrench part of tool, 856A2718 TOOL SET,R/I-DRIVE SHAFTS (856A2718G03).
(d) Secure the wrench guide on AGB housing using the two bolts provided.
(e) Turn wrench axle to engage forward square end of the axle into handcranking drive.
(f) Screw the nut using axle for countertorque. TORQUE nut to between 1148 and 882 lbf.in (12.97 and 9.97 m.daN )
.
(4) Install the handcranking drive cover (Ref. AMM TASK 72-63-00-400-004), but do the test of this procedure during close-up.
5. Close-up(1) Positioning of Horizontal Drive Shaft
(a) Screw the puller part of tool, 856A2718 TOOL SET,R/I-DRIVE SHAFTS (856A2718G03) into the horizontal drive shaft.
(b) Push the puller and turn it to engage the drive shaft splines into the internal gearshaft splines.
(c) Push the horizontal drive shaft up to extreme position.
(d) Remove the puller from the horizontal drive shaft.
(2) Installation of Handcranking Drive
(a) Lightly coat new AIPC 72-63-00-04-010 O-RING (20) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install in groove of handcranking drive.
(b) Lightly coat the handcranking drive splines with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and check for cleanliness of mating faces.
(c) Screw the puller, 856A2632 PULLER (856A2632G01), into the handcranking drive.
(d) Install the handcranking drive by pushing the puller and turning it to engage handcranking drive into the internal gearshaft splines and pushing again up to contact with horizontal drive shaft.
(e) Remove the puller from handcranking drive.
(3) Installation of Nut
(a) Ensure retaining spring is installed in groove of nut.
(b) Lightly coat external threads of nut with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(c) Engage the nut on the wrench part of tool, 856A2718 TOOL SET,R/I-DRIVE SHAFTS (856A2718G03).
(d) Secure the wrench guide on AGB housing using the two bolts provided.
(e) Turn wrench axle to engage forward square end of the axle into handcranking drive.
(f) Screw the nut using axle for countertorque. TORQUE nut to between 1148 and 882 lbf.in (12.97 and 9.97 m.daN )
. (4) Install the handcranking drive cover (Ref. AMM TASK 72-63-00-400-004), but do the test of this procedure during close-up.
