Installation of the Underwing Panel
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
1. Reason for the Job- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) is in position below the applicable zone 571(671).
(2) Make sure the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable zone 540(640).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 57-51-37-420-066-A (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
B. Installation of the Underwing Panel
(1) Remove the harnesses (7) from the BAG - PLASTIC and put them in position on the underwing panel (21).
(2) Put the underwing panel (21) in position and hold it.
(3) Install the bolts (24) and the nuts (25).
(4) TORQUE the nuts (25) to between 0.40 and 0.34 m.daN (35.40 and 30.09 lbf.in )
.
(5) Attach the bonding straps (26) to the buttstrap (22) with the bolts (23) and the nuts (27) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Put the rods (28) in position.
(a) Make sure that the length of the rods (28) is 758 mm (29.8425 in.) and the bolts (31) can be easily installed.
1 If necessary, do the following steps:
b Loosen the nuts (29) and adjust the length of the rod (28) and the position of the rod ends (30). Tighten the nuts (29).
c Safety the nuts (29) with new14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(7) Put the sleeve bushings (33) in position.
(8) Install the bolts (31) as recorded in the removal procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-010).
(9) Make sure that the sleeve bushings (33) are installed on the bolts (31).
(10) Install the nuts (34).
(11) TORQUE the nuts (34) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in )
.
(12) Safety the nuts (34) with the new AIPC 57-51-05-66-010 COTTER-PINS (35) or AIPC 57-51-85-66-010 COTTER-PINS (35). If the hole for the cotter pin (35) does not align, loosen the nut (34) sufficiently to align the hole.
Subtask 57-51-37-420-068-A (1) Remove the harnesses (7) from the BAG - PLASTIC and put them in position on the underwing panel (21).
(2) Put the underwing panel (21) in position and hold it.
(3) Install the bolts (24) and the nuts (25).
(4) TORQUE the nuts (25) to between 0.40 and 0.34 m.daN (35.40 and 30.09 lbf.in )
. (5) Attach the bonding straps (26) to the buttstrap (22) with the bolts (23) and the nuts (27) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Put the rods (28) in position.
(a) Make sure that the length of the rods (28) is 758 mm (29.8425 in.) and the bolts (31) can be easily installed.
1 If necessary, do the following steps:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
a Remove and discard the lockwire from the nuts (29). b Loosen the nuts (29) and adjust the length of the rod (28) and the position of the rod ends (30). Tighten the nuts (29).
c Safety the nuts (29) with new
(7) Put the sleeve bushings (33) in position.
(8) Install the bolts (31) as recorded in the removal procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-010).
(9) Make sure that the sleeve bushings (33) are installed on the bolts (31).
(10) Install the nuts (34).
(11) TORQUE the nuts (34) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in )
. (12) Safety the nuts (34) with the new AIPC 57-51-05-66-010 COTTER-PINS (35) or AIPC 57-51-85-66-010 COTTER-PINS (35). If the hole for the cotter pin (35) does not align, loosen the nut (34) sufficiently to align the hole.
C. Installation of the Harnesses on the Underwing Panel
(1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the disconnected connector and the plug connector (9).
(2) Put the harnesses (7) in the correct routing.
(3) Make sure that there are no kinks in the harnesses.
(4) Fully loosen the plug connector (9) and the backshell (10).
(5) Connect the leads of the harnesses (7) to the pins in the plug connector (9).
(6) Install the backshell (10) on the plug connector (9).
(7) Attach the harnesses (7) with the new AIPC 28-21-85-22-050 CABLE TIES (11).
(8) Put the clamps (5) and the guides (4) in position on the brackets (8).
(9) Install the bolts (6) and the nuts (3). Do not tighten the nuts (3).
(10) Put the harnesses (7) in position on the brackets (8).
(11) TORQUE the nuts (2) to between 0.497 and 0.407 m.daN (43.98 and 36.02 lbf.in )
.
(12) Adjust the length of the harnesses (7) and install the fuel pump fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-49-400-001).
(13) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 0.17 and 0.14 m.daN (15.04 and 12.39 lbf.in )
.
5. Close-up(1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the disconnected connector and the plug connector (9).
(2) Put the harnesses (7) in the correct routing.
(3) Make sure that there are no kinks in the harnesses.
(4) Fully loosen the plug connector (9) and the backshell (10).
(5) Connect the leads of the harnesses (7) to the pins in the plug connector (9).
(6) Install the backshell (10) on the plug connector (9).
(7) Attach the harnesses (7) with the new AIPC 28-21-85-22-050 CABLE TIES (11).
(8) Put the clamps (5) and the guides (4) in position on the brackets (8).
(9) Install the bolts (6) and the nuts (3). Do not tighten the nuts (3).
(10) Put the harnesses (7) in position on the brackets (8).
(11) TORQUE the nuts (2) to between 0.497 and 0.407 m.daN (43.98 and 36.02 lbf.in )
. (12) Adjust the length of the harnesses (7) and install the fuel pump fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-49-400-001).
(13) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 0.17 and 0.14 m.daN (15.04 and 12.39 lbf.in )

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Connect the shroud box (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-15-400-001).
(3) Install the removed landing light 7LB (8LB) (Ref. AMM TASK 33-42-11-400-003).
Subtask 57-51-37-865-064-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
(3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
