Installation of the Secondary-Hinged-Fairing Attachment
WARNING:

- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure the safety devices are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001) and the landing gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(2) Make sure the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(3) Make sure the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate:
Subtask 57-26-21-860-050-A (1) Make sure the safety devices are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001) and the landing gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(2) Make sure the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(3) Make sure the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate:
- the landing gear
- the landing gear doors.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the applicable main landing gear bay, zone 733 (743).
(2) Make sure the secondary-hinged-fairing has been removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-13-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the applicable main landing gear bay, zone 733 (743).

Subtask 57-26-21-420-051-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the component interface and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 57-26-21-420-050-A (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the component interface and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
B. Installation of the Fairing Attachment
(1) Hold the secondary hinged-fairing attachment (5).
(2) Install the secondary hinged-fairing attachment (5) with the hinge pin (4), the washer (3) and the nut (2).
(3) TORQUE the nut (2) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )

(4) Safety the nut (2) with the new AIPC 57-26-21-01-160 COTTER PIN (1). If the holes of the nut (2) and the hinge pin (4) do not align, sufficiently loosen the nut (2) to install the new AIPC 57-26-21-01-160 COTTER PIN (1).
(5) Put the actuating rod in position between the lugs of the secondary hinged-fairing attachment (5).
(6) Connect the actuating rod to the secondary hinged-fairing attachment (5) with the bolt (6), the washer (7) and the nut (8).

(8) Safety the nut (8) with the new AIPC 57-26-21-01-060 COTTER PIN (9).
Subtask 57-26-21-410-051-A 5. Close-up(1) Hold the secondary hinged-fairing attachment (5).
(2) Install the secondary hinged-fairing attachment (5) with the hinge pin (4), the washer (3) and the nut (2).
(3) TORQUE the nut (2) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. (4) Safety the nut (2) with the new AIPC 57-26-21-01-160 COTTER PIN (1). If the holes of the nut (2) and the hinge pin (4) do not align, sufficiently loosen the nut (2) to install the new AIPC 57-26-21-01-160 COTTER PIN (1).
(5) Put the actuating rod in position between the lugs of the secondary hinged-fairing attachment (5).
(6) Connect the actuating rod to the secondary hinged-fairing attachment (5) with the bolt (6), the washer (7) and the nut (8).
NOTE: On the left side, the bolt head must be in the flight direction. On the right side, the bolt head must be in the flight opposite direction.
(7) TORQUE the nut (8) to between 1.0 and 0.9 m.daN (88.50 and 79.65 lbf.in )
. (8) Safety the nut (8) with the new AIPC 57-26-21-01-060 COTTER PIN (9).

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform.
(3) Remove the safety barriers.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
