Installation of the Cabin Window

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 56-21-13-860-050-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as for the removal task.

B. Preparation for Installation:
   (1) Examine the window panes.
   (2) Make sure that the window panes are not damaged.
   (3) Clean the inner pane (8), rubber seal (7) and outer pane (6) with clean, warm water.
   (4) Do a check and make sure that all abrasive particles are removed from the components.
   (5) Repeat the procedure again with a weak solution of soap and water. Use a clean SPONGE or CHAMOIS LEATHER.
   (6) Remove the soap solution with clean, warm water.
   (7) Dry the components with a moist chamois leather.
   (8) If stains or dirty marks remain, you must remove them with Cleaner-Plastic - - (Material No.08CSA9) and a clean, Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (9) Remove the plastic cleaner with clean water.
   (10) Apply anti-static treatment to the window panes:
     (a) Mix 7-parts of Cleaner-Plastic - - (Material No.08CSA9) with 60-parts of water.
     (b) Apply the plastic cleaner solution to the window panes.
     (c) Let the window panes dry.
     (d) Polish the window panes with a clean, lint free cloth.
NOTE: You must wear GLOVES - COTTON, LINT-FREE, CLEAN when you touch the window panes, components and assemblies.
   (11) Install the inner pane (8) in the rubber seal (7).
   (12) Install the outer pane (6) in the rubber seal (7).
NOTE: Install the inner pane (8) and the outer pane (6) in the rubber seal (7) in accordance with the alignment marks.
   (13) Make sure that the window frame is clean and there are no dents, damaged paintwork or corrosion.
   (14) Make sure that the retainer (3), retainer attach nuts (4) and eyebolts (5) are in the correct condition.
4. Procedure
Subtask 56-21-13-420-052-A
A. Installation of the Cabin Window
   (1) Install the window assembly (2) in the window frame (1).
   (2) Make sure that the vent hole (9), through the inner pane (8), is at the bottom of the window assembly (2).
   (3) Install the retainer (3). Do not damage the protective surfaces of the retainer.
   (4) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the bottom of the threads of the eyebolts (5).
   (5) Install the retainer attach nuts (4) on the eyebolts (5). Do not tighten the nuts at this time.
   (6) Make sure that the window assembly (2) is in the center of the window frame (1).
   (7) Make sure that you can see the outer bead of the rubber seal (7) around the window frame (1).
NOTE: The outer bead of the rubber seal (7) can have an irregular circumference.
   (8) Tighten the retainer attach nuts (4) in a diagonal sequence.
   (9) TORQUE the retainer attach nuts (4) to between 0.65 and 0.55 m.daN (57.52 and 48.67 lbf.in ) T.
   (10) Make red marks on the retainer attach nuts (4) and the retainer (3) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (11) Clean the outer surface of the outer pane (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 56-21-13-100-002).
   (12) Clean the inboard surface of the inner pane (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-21-12-100-004).
5. Close-up
Subtask 56-21-13-410-052-A
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the upper sidewall panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-43-400-001).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
