   (1) Depressurize the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001),
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at Zone 320.
   (2) Open and safety the access panels 325BL 325CL (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-010-002).

D. Preparation of the inspection area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Remove the TPS layer, if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure

A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the rudder hinge arm 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 and the fin actuator fittings actuator 1, 2 and 3.

B. Application of the Temporary Protection System (TPS)
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON THE OXYGEN SYSTEMS. MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPORARY PROTECTION DOES NOT GET:
  • ON COMPOSITE PARTS, CONTROL CABLES, PULLEYS,TEFLON BEARINGS.
  • ON LUBRICATED SURFACES.
  • IN DRAIN VALVES OR OTHER ORIFICES.
TEMPORARY PROTECTION ON OR IN THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Apply Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) on the equipment and fittings adjacent to the area.
   (2) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you always apply a new layer of TPS. This is to make sure that the TPS layer continues to give satisfactory corrosion protection.
   (3) Make sure that the TPS layer is in the correct condition after the check.
   (4) If the TPS is in the correct condition, apply a new layer as a spray on the remaining layer.
   (5) Replace the damaged TPS layer with Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) on the applicable rudder hinge arm (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (6) If you use solvents, high-pressure water, steam and/or cleaning agents to clean the TPS layer:
     (a) Apply a full new layer of TPS on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
     (b) If there is no TPS layer, apply a new layer of TPS on the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (7) Remove the masking paper or the masking tape.
5. Close-up
Subtask 55-30-00-410-055-B
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access panels 325BL 325CL (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-410-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
