B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-57-22-010-091-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(3) Remove the fan exit fairing - upper Bifi (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-04-000-801).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, at zone 420.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(3) Remove the fan exit fairing - upper Bifi (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-04-000-801).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, at zone 420.

A. Removal of the Joint Plate and the Nose Fire Seal
(2) Remove the nuts (5) and the washers (4).
(3) Hold the joint plate (2) that is installed on the pylon box.
(4) Remove the bolts (3) and (6) from the joint plate (2).
(5) Remove the joint plate (2) together with the seal (1) from the pylon box.
(6) Remove the nut (7).
(7) Remove the nose fire seal (1) from the joint plate (2).
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(1) Hold the nose fire seal (1) that is installed on the joint plate (2). (2) Remove the nuts (5) and the washers (4).
(3) Hold the joint plate (2) that is installed on the pylon box.
(4) Remove the bolts (3) and (6) from the joint plate (2).
(5) Remove the joint plate (2) together with the seal (1) from the pylon box.
(6) Remove the nut (7).
(7) Remove the nose fire seal (1) from the joint plate (2).
