A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 54-57-22-040-081-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-57-22-010-075-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

(2) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 415
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 425.
(4) Remove the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) assembly, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-000-818).
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:

(4) Remove the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) assembly, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-000-818).

A. Removal of the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) Block Fire-Seal
(1) Hold the RMF block fire-seal (3).
(2) Loosen the nuts (1).
(3) Remove the RMF block fire-seal (3) with washers (2) and nuts (1).
(1) Hold the RMF block fire-seal (3).
(2) Loosen the nuts (1).
(3) Remove the RMF block fire-seal (3) with washers (2) and nuts (1).
