Removal of the Aprons and the Profiles

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-57-22-010-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(2) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.
(4) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802):
(a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BR
(b) For the right pylon: 425AL 425BR.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.
(4) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802):
(a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BR
(b) For the right pylon: 425AL 425BR.

A. Removal of the Aprons and the Profiles
(a) Remove the nut (8), the washer (7) and the screw (1).
(b) Remove the screws (3), (4) and (12).
(c) Remove the LH apron (2).
(2) Removal of the RH apron (13):
(a) Remove the nut (18), the washer (17) and the screw (14).
(b) Remove the screws (15), (16) and (19).
(c) Remove the RH apron (13).
(3) Removal of the profiles (11):
(a) Remove the nuts (5) and the bolts (9).
(b) Remove the nuts (6) and the bolts (10).
(c) Remove the profiles (11).
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(1) Removal of the LH apron (2): (a) Remove the nut (8), the washer (7) and the screw (1).
(b) Remove the screws (3), (4) and (12).
(c) Remove the LH apron (2).
(2) Removal of the RH apron (13):
(a) Remove the nut (18), the washer (17) and the screw (14).
(b) Remove the screws (15), (16) and (19).
(c) Remove the RH apron (13).
(3) Removal of the profiles (11):
(a) Remove the nuts (5) and the bolts (9).
(b) Remove the nuts (6) and the bolts (10).
(c) Remove the profiles (11).
