3. Job Set-up
Subtask 54-57-17-010-064-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
     (a) For the left pylon: at zone 415
     (b) For the right pylon: at zone 425.
   (2) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl doors are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-000-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
- 451AL and 452AR.
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
- 461AL and 462AR.
   (3) Make sure that the pylon lateral access-doors are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-804):
     (a) For the left pylon: 415AL and 415BR
     (b) For the right pylon: 425AL and 425BR.
   (4) Make sure that the pylon-to-wing access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-806):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413CL
     (b) For the right pylon: 424CR.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is set to NORM.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was set to OFF not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

C. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) If the parts kept from the removed component are not sufficiently clean, clean them with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-57-17-420-064-A
A. Installation of the Thrust-Reverser Cowl Hinge-Fitting at RIB3
   (1) If you install new reverser fittings, do a check of the dimensions of the new and the used reverser fittings.
   (2) Use the location and the thickness of the peel shim recorded during the removal.
   (3) Put the shim (1) in the correct position on the pylon.
   (4) Put the thrust-reverser cowl hinge-fitting (2) in position.
   (5) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on the shanks of the screws (3) and (4).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (6) Install the screws (3) and (4).
   (7) Install the washers (5) and the nuts (6).
   (8) Tighten the nuts (6).

   (1) Install the pylon-to-wing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-806):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413CL
     (b) For the right pylon: 424CR.
   (2) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-400-803):
     (a) For the left pylon: 415AL and 415BR
     (b) For the right pylon: 425AL and 425BR.
   (3) Install the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-400-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
- 451AL and 452AR.
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
- 461AL and 462AR.

B. Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser
   (1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-807).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
