3. Job Set-up
Subtask 54-52-82-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
     (a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
     (b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

C. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the remaining sealant from the applicable locations of the forward fairing structure. Clean the applicable area of the forward fairing structure with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Make sure that the sealant is removed from the straps (6), (12) and (13).
   (3) If they are not sufficiently clean, use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the remaining sealant from the applicable locations of the the straps (6), (12) and (13). Clean the applicable area of the straps (6), (12) and (13) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-52-82-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Straps
   (1) Put and hold the strap (3) in position on the forward fairing structure at RIB02.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (2) Install the screws (1) and the bolts (4).
   (3) Install the nuts (2) and tighten them.
   (4) Put and hold the strap (6) on the forward fairing structure at RIB04.
   (5) Install the screws (5) and tighten them.
   (6) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) on the applicable locations of the forward fairing structure adjacent to RIB06.
   (7) Put and hold the straps (12) on the forward fairing structure adjacent to RIB06.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (8) Install the washers (11) and the bolts (10).
   (9) Install the washers (8) and the bolts (9).
   (10) Install the nuts (7) and tighten them.
   (11) Put and hold the strap (13) on the forward fairing structure adjacent to RIB06.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (12) Install the washers (19) and the bolts (18).
   (13) Install the washers (14) and the bolts (15).
   (14) Install the washer (17) and the bolt (16).
   (15) Install the nuts (20) and tighten them.
   (16) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) at the applicable locations between:
     (a) The strap (6) and the forward fairing structure
     (b) The strap (12) and the forward fairing structure
     (c) The strap (13) and the forward fairing structure.

A. Close Access
   (1) Install the pylon-to-wing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-806):
     (a) For the left pylon: 413CL
     (b) For the right pylon: 481AL.
   (2) Install the access skin panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-400-807):
     (a) For the left pylon: 411AL 413AL 413BL
     (b) For the right pylon: 421AL 423AL 423BL.

B. Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser
   (1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-807).

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
