DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION SYSTEM (TPS) ON THE INSPECTION AREA. IF YOU APPLY TPS ON THE INSPECTION AREA, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

Subtask 54-51-00-941-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC.
Subtask 54-51-00-010-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) At zone 410 for the left pylon
(b) At zone 420 for the right pylon.

(a) At zone 410 for the left pylon
(b) At zone 420 for the right pylon.
C. Removal of the Components
Subtask 54-51-00-110-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: You must do the shackle inspection in two steps to prevent misalignment of the pylon:
Remove the shackle from one side of the pylon. Then do the inspection.
Install the shackle.
Remove the shackle from the other side of the pylon. Then do the inspection.
Install the shackle.
(1) Remove the shackles, the sleeves and the bolts (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-000-001). Remove the shackle from one side of the pylon. Then do the inspection.
Install the shackle.
Remove the shackle from the other side of the pylon. Then do the inspection.
Install the shackle.
D. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If it is not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Make sure that there is no Temporary Protection System (TPS) layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If it is not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Make sure that there is no Temporary Protection System (TPS) layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).

A. Inspection

(1) Do a detailed inspection of the shackles, sleeves and bolts of the pylon-to-wing attachment fittings at RIB4.
(2) Make sure that there is no:
(a) Corrosion damage:
- If you find corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
- If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and related corrective action.
5. Close-up

A. Installation of the Components
(1) Install the bolts, the sleeves and the shackles (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-400-001).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
