Removal of the Oil-Cooler Transfer Tubes (131-9(A))

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is OFF.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
   (2) Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (3) Set the LIGHT control SW 11LJ to the ON position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 49-91-44-020-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Oil Tubes
   (1) Removal of the Oil Tubes for APU PRE SN P-6824 and PRE Honeywell SB 131-49-8205:

NOTE: The following procedure can be used to remove one or both Oil Tubes.
     (a) Put the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the bypass valve (5).
     (b) Loosen the nuts (6) from the oil tubes clamps (3) and (8).
     (c) Turn the clamps (3) and (8) to free the oil tubes (1) and (2).
     (d) Pull the Oil Supply Tube (1) and Oil Return Tube (2) out of the gear box housing (9) and the bypass valve (5).
     (e) Remove and discard the packings (7) and (4).
NOTE: The packings (7) and (4) must be discarded and replaced for new packings.
     (f) Put the blanking plugs on the oil tubes (1) and (2), the bypass valve (5) and the gear box housing (9).
   (2) Removal of the Oil Supply and Return Tubes for APU POST SN P-6824, or for APU PRE SN P-6824 and POST Honeywell SB 131-49-8205:

NOTE: This procedure is applicable to the removal of one or the two oil tubes.
     (a) Put the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the bypass valve (7).
     (b) Remove the nuts (17), the bolts (14) and the bracket (15) to release the clamps (16).
     (c) Remove the clamps (16) from the oil supply tube (2) and the oil return tube (1).
     (d) Remove the nut (13), the bolt (10) and the spacer (12) to release the clamps (11).
     (e) Remove the clamps (11) from the oil supply tube (2) and the oil return tube (1).
     (f) Remove the nuts (3) from the oil-cooler tube retainer (4) and gearbox tube retainer (9).
     (g) Remove the oil-cooler tube retainer (4) and the gearbox tube retainer (9) to release the oil supply tube (2) and the oil return tube (1).
     (h) Pull the oil supply tube (2) and the oil return tube (1) out of the gear box housing (8) and the bypass valve (7).
     (i) Remove and discard the packings (5) and (6).
     (j) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the oil supply tube (2), the oil return tube (1), the bypass valve (7) and the gearbox housing (8).
