A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is OFF.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set the LIGHT control SW 11LJ to the ON position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 49-52-51-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Cooling Fan
(1) Remove the clamps (11) and the fan inlet duct (12).
(2) Remove the clamp (10) from the fan outlet duct (1).
(3) Hold the fan (9) and remove the clamp (3) from the connecting flange and the fan (9).
(4) Remove the transfer tube (7) from the fan (9).
(5) Remove and discard the packings (6) from the transfer tube (7).
(6) Remove Primary Compressor Discharge (PCD) tube (2) from union (4).
(7) Remove union (4) from the fan (9).
(8) Remove and discard packing (5) from union (4).
(9) Remove and discard the packing (8) from the fan (9).
