B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is OFF.
(3) Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5) Make sure that the access platform is positioned below the APU compartment.
(6) Make sure that the APU access doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
Subtask 49-32-11-865-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Energize the ground service network

A. Installation of the FCU
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs.
(4) Lubricate the new AIPC 49-32-09-01-030 O-RING (6) or AIPC 49-32-84-30-020 O-RING (6) with Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) .
(5) Install the O-ring (6) on the FCU (5).
(6) Locate the FCU (5) on the locating pin (8) of the oil module flange and install the clamp (7).
(7) Torque the clamp (7):

(b) TORQUE the clamp (7) P/N 234-591-3030 to between 63 and 57 lbf.in (0.71 and 0.64 m.daN )
.
(9) Install the O-rings (9) and (16) on the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10).
(10) Check the correct location of the tubes using the labels attached to the pipes when the FCU was removed to the FCU ports.
(11) Connect the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10) to the FCU (5).
(12) Remove the labels attached to the pipes and clean the surface of them with a dry Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(13) Turn the plate (14) to hold the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10) in position and install the captive bolts (12).
(14) TORQUE the captive bolts (12) to between 52.5 and 47.5 lbf.in (0.59 and 0.54 m.daN )

(15) Lubricate the new AIPC 49-32-09-01-060 O-RINGS (1) or AIPC 49-32-84-30-030 O-RINGS (1) with Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) .
(16) Install the O-rings (1) on the union (3) and put the union (3) into the FCU (5).
(17) Turn the plate (4) to hold the union (3) in the FCU (5) and install the nut (2).
(18) TORQUE the nut (2) to between 0.506 and 0.414 m.daN (44.78 and 36.64 lbf.in )

(20) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(21) Connect the electrical connector (17) to the FCU solenoid.
(22) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

(5) Install the O-ring (6) on the FCU (5).
(6) Locate the FCU (5) on the locating pin (8) of the oil module flange and install the clamp (7).
(7) Torque the clamp (7):
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL SUPPLY PIPE, ACTUATOR SUPPLY PIPE AND ACTUATOR RETURN PIPE ARE ALIGNED WHEN INSTALLED IN THE TUBE SPACER BRACKET.
MAKE SURE THAT THE TUBE SPACER BRACKET IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED. IF THE PIPES ARE NOT PARALLEL OR ARE BENT, AN INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE PIPES CAN OCCUR.
(a) TORQUE the clamp (7) P/N 234-511-9059 to between 21 and 19 lbf.in (0.24 and 0.21 m.daN )
. (b) TORQUE the clamp (7) P/N 234-591-3030 to between 63 and 57 lbf.in (0.71 and 0.64 m.daN )
. NOTE: The Torque value shown in the clamp (7) is only the Nominal Torque (Total Torque = Nominal Torque + Running Torque).
(8) Lubricate the new AIPC 49-21-09-05-040 O-RINGS (9) or AIPC 49-21-84-30-220 O-RINGS (9) and AIPC 49-21-09-05-050 O-RING (16) or AIPC 49-21-84-30-240 O-RING (16) with Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) . (9) Install the O-rings (9) and (16) on the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10).
(10) Check the correct location of the tubes using the labels attached to the pipes when the FCU was removed to the FCU ports.
(11) Connect the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10) to the FCU (5).
(12) Remove the labels attached to the pipes and clean the surface of them with a dry Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(13) Turn the plate (14) to hold the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10) in position and install the captive bolts (12).
(14) TORQUE the captive bolts (12) to between 52.5 and 47.5 lbf.in (0.59 and 0.54 m.daN )
. (15) Lubricate the new AIPC 49-32-09-01-060 O-RINGS (1) or AIPC 49-32-84-30-030 O-RINGS (1) with Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) .
(16) Install the O-rings (1) on the union (3) and put the union (3) into the FCU (5).
(17) Turn the plate (4) to hold the union (3) in the FCU (5) and install the nut (2).
(18) TORQUE the nut (2) to between 0.506 and 0.414 m.daN (44.78 and 36.64 lbf.in )
. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(19) Safety the union (3) to the FCU (5) with (20) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(21) Connect the electrical connector (17) to the FCU solenoid.
(22) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Do the operational test of the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-710-010).
(1) Operate the APU for min. five minutes and examine the joints of the fuel control unit for leaks.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
