A. Removal of the FCU
CAUTION: PUT PLASTIC CAPS OR PLUGS ON ALL FUEL AND/OR LUBRICATION SYSTEM COMPONENTS AND LINES. IF YOU USE TAPE, CLOTH, OR METAL CAPS ON THEM, YOU CAN DAMAGE THE APU.
CAUTION: YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (17) from the FCU solenoid.
   (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (3) Remove and discard the lockwire from the union (3).
   (4) Loosen the nut (2) and turn the plate (4) to release the union (3).
   (5) Disconnect the union (3) from the FCU (5).

   (7) Loosen the captive bolts (12).
   (8) Turn the plate (14) free from the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10).
NOTE: The actuator supply pipe (13) and the plate (14) make one assembly.
   (9) Attach a label to the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10) regarding to its FCU port indication.
   (10) Disconnect the drain pipe (15), the actuator return pipe (11) and the high pressure fuel supply pipe (10) from the FCU (5).
CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE FCU, DO NOT MOVE THE TUBE SPACER BRACKET. DO NOT USE FORCE AND DO NOT BEND THE FCU PIPES. THIS WILL PREVENT INCORRECT POSITIONING OF THE TUBE COUPLINGS.

   (13) Remove and discard the O-ring (6).
