A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) On the panel 25VU make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is off.
   (3) Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
   (2) Open the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (3) Set the LIGHT control SW 11LJ to the ON position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 49-26-54-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Air/Oil Separator Adapter
   (1) Put the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) in position below the air/oil separator adapter (1)
   (2) Remove the retainer bolt (4) from the air/oil separator adapter (1).
   (3) Disconnect the gearbox vent tube (5) from the air/oil separator adapter (1).
   (4) Remove the packings (6) from the gearbox vent tube (5).
   (5) Examine the packings (6) for cuts, tears or broken pieces, and discard if damaged.
   (6) Remove the bolts (2), the washers (3) and the air/oil separator adapter (1).
   (7) Remove the seal (7) and the shim (8) from the engine assy.
   (8) Remove and discard the packings (9) and (10) from the air/oil separator adapter (1).
   (9) Make a record of the shim thickness for installation.
